Ohio State running back Miyan Williams appears to be out for national championship game

Ohio State running back Miyan Williams shared on Twitter that he didn’t make the trip to Miami with the team to play against Alabama.

There has been rumors circulating all week that there may be some players who have tested positive for COVID-19 and unable to play in Monday’s national championship game. So much so, there was concern that the game may need to be pushed back a week if Ohio State lacked the players to fully field a team.

Final testing took place late this week and it looks like the game is a go. However, the jury is still out as to who is actually going to be able to play. As has been the case all season long, we won’t get the official report of who is available until about an hour before game time, but it looks like we now know one for sure who won’t be playing.

Miyan Williams, who had a couple electrifying runs in the Sugar Bowl, shared via Twitter that he didn’t make the trip to Miami.

We certainly feel for Williams on missing the opportunity to compete with his teammates for a national title. It also remains to be seen if Master Teague has been cleared to play after sustaining a concussion in the Big Ten Championship game. If there is no Williams or Teague, the Buckeyes will rely even more heavily on Trey Sermon.

We’ll find out for sure who else may not be with the team on Monday. On the bright side, it does look like Zach Harrison will be available after missing the Sugar Bowl against Clemson.

Hold your breath Buckeye Nation as we await word on who else may be out.
