Ohio State favored by -16.5 over Wisconsin in early Big Ten Championship rematch

The early line on the Big Ten Championship Game is out, and according to BetMGM, Ohio State is a -16.5 favorite over the Wisconsin Badgers.

It’s not quite February 2, but we’re going to get an early dose of Big Ten football Groundhog Day this coming Saturday. That’s because Ohio State and Wisconsin are going to meet for the second time this season in the Big Ten Championship Game.

Ohio State disposed of the Badgers rather easily the first time around back on October 26. The Buckeyes rolled up 431 yards of total offense — 264 on the ground — against what was the nation’s top ranked defense up until that point. Meanwhile, the defense throttled one of the countries’ top rushing offenses. It all amounted to a 38-7 whitewashing in the ‘Shoe.

So you might wonder what kind of line would be set for a rematch in that case. If you weren’t, we certainly were, and we have our answer. According to the online betting website BetMGM, The Buckeyes have been installed as an early -16.5 favorite to win Ohio State vs. Wisconsin 2.0.

It’s always interesting to see where odds go for rematches in the same season like this, and with the lopsided score the first time around, you may be wondering why the margin is not greater. Ahem, we were. I mean you had a game as the best indicator already.

You can probably point to the neutral field, and the challenges of facing a team the second time as rationale on this one. However, maybe this is the time for you to jump head first into this one if you are the betting type?
