North Shore DT Kristopher Ross announces commitment to Texas

Three-star defensive tackle Kristopher Ross announced his commitment to the University of Texas on Tuesday.

Texas landed their seventh member to the 2022 recruiting class on Tuesday.

Three-star defensive tackle Kristopher Ross becomes the first lineman to commit to the University of Texas in the 2022 cycle. The other six commits range from quarterback, running back, receiver, linebacker or defensive back.

Ross is rated the No. 35 player at his position and a top 60 recruit in the state of Texas. He had compiled an impressive list of offers ranging from Oklahoma, USC, LSU, Baylor, Auburn, Miami and Ole Miss.

The Houston native and North Shore High School product announced his commitment to Texas via Twitter on Tuesday.

In 2020, Ross was a first-team all-district selection as a junior and helped North Shore to a 14-1 record and the Texas 6A D-1 state semifinals. The Longhorns officially extended an offer to Ross on Feb. 14 of this year.

First-year head coach Steve Sarkisian continues to be in good shape for the 2022 recruiting cycle, but landing several more quality lineman on each side of the ball will be crucial. Ross is hopefully just the first domino to fall in that regard.
