New Ohio State quarterback sheds black stripe

Oregon State transfer, Tristan Gebbia hopes to coach someday when his playing days are over #GoBucks

Black stripe alert! Oregon State transfer, Tristan Gebbia, has been officially welcomed to the brotherhood.

Gebbia joined the Buckeyes via the transfer portal with a clear understanding he would compete for a backup spot. The former Beaver is a rare breed, someone who understands he’s been fortunate to play at the highest collegiate level and wants to prep for what’s next. For Gebbia, coaching the game he loves is the next desired step, and he believed Ohio State would be a great place to learn.

And who can argue? Ryan Day has been putting out NFL-level talent at the quarterback position for some time now. If Gebbia wants to coach after he hangs up the cleats, OSU is a great place to further his knowledge.

Of course, it never hurts to have experienced QBs in the room. Especially when the two guys competing for the starting job have little real game experience. And let’s not forget, Buckeye fans only need to go back to 2014 to know how important depth is at the quarterback position.
