Nephew of former Ohio State star says Buckeyes are still in the picture

The name Pickett would look great in Scarlet and Gray once again. #GoBucks

Ryan Pickett starred at Ohio State in the late 90s through 2000. He was a force to be reckoned with on the Buckeye defensive line and was a first-round NFL draft selection by the St. Louis Rams. He played 14 seasons in the league with the Rams, Packers and Texans, winning a Super Bowl with Green Bay in 2011.

The nephew of former Ohio State star Booker Pickett put the Buckeyes in his top nine schools this past February, but he has been somewhat quiet since. He took an official visit to OSU in June, but there was no real buzz one way or another after his visit to Columbus.

Some bait was recently put in the water when Pickett was tagged in a Twitter post to see if the Buckeyes were “still in the running” for his services. Pickett saw the tweet and responded positively with a #GoBuckeyes.

That’s certainly a positive response that will have Buckeye fans smiling.  Pickett is the No. 13 edge rusher in the 2024 class on the 247Sports composite.

Other schools being considered are Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, Miami (Florida), Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee and USC.
