LSU increases winning streak to five with Sunday shutout against Central Connecticut State

[autotag]Dylan Crews[/autotag] got the scoring started in the bottom of the first inning with a two-RBI double down the left-field line to score [autotag]Tre Morgan[/autotag] and [autotag]Gavin Dugas[/autotag]. [autotag]Jordan Thompson[/autotag] followed that with an RBI double on his own to score Crews and advance [autotag]Tommy White[/autotag] to third.

The final run of the inning was scored on a [autotag]Brayden Jobert[/autotag] groundout to give LSU a 4-0 lead after one inning.

[autotag]Chase Shores[/autotag] got the start on the mound and had a good day. His final line was 3.2 innings pitched allowing three hits on four strikeouts and two walks. [autotag]Nate Ackenhausen[/autotag] and [autotag]Griffin Herring[/autotag] followed him on the mound.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Tigers extended the lead as they tacked on four more runs. Dugas hit an RBI double, Morgan hit an RBI single, and Morgan and Dugas scored due to a couple of errors by the Blue Devils.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, [autotag]Cade Beloso[/autotag] continued his hot start to the season as he hit a two-run bomb to right field to make it 10-0. White followed that with an RBI single, Thompson hit an RBI single and [autotag]Alex Milazzo[/autotag] scored on a Jobert groundout to make it 13-0 after six innings.

With the win, LSU now holds a 10-1 record. The next game will be against the Butler Bulldogs on Monday night to close out the four-game weekend slate. The first pitch for that one is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT.
