Michigan vs. Ohio State
Patrick Conn, Managing Editor
This rivalry dates back more than a century. In the first meeting, the Wolverines beat Ohio State 34-0, there has been a genuine hatred between the two rabid fanbases since that point. The animosity between the two is so great that the Buckeyes faithful won’t even utter the word Michigan.
During the course of the college football season, the matchup between these two schools means everything. If you can’t win, then your season outlook is dim. In the upcoming season, Ohio State will have the opportunity to match the longest win streak of the series. An accolade that the Wolverines have owned since 1909 with nine-straight wins.
Who could forget the game in 2006, dubbed the “Game of the Century.” Ohio State came out on top 42-39, the thriller featured the two highest-ranked teams in the nation. The Buckeyes went on to play in the BCS National Title game. However, this war between states goes all the back to 1835 in a battle over territory. Wherever you stand on the battle, it makes an interesting Saturday on the gridiron.
