The only thing missing from Texas-Oklahoma is the feeling of being an in-state rivalry. No matchup in college football has that feeling more than the Iron Bowl. In the state of Alabama, there are no professional sports teams and college football is all they have to cling to.
When you are born, you pick one. Alabama or Auburn, and you are not allowed to cheer for both of them. Played every Saturday after Thanksgiving, nothing beats the feeling of having bragging rights in the state of Alabama.
