Although Texas Tech, Iowa State, Kansas and Kansas State also extended an offer to Jones, Baylor and Texas were the only Big 12 programs to appear on his list of remaining schools.

Colorado, Missouri, and Nebraska will also be competing to receive a commitment from Jones. He helped McKinney High School to a Texas 6A D-II second-round playoff appearance as a junior and compiled 55 tackles with 16 tackles for loss, six sacks, and four pass breakups.
