Giants’ Tae Crowder takes pass on gloating over Derrick Henry hit

New York Giants LB Tae Crowder took a hard pass on gloating over the crushing blow he put on Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry in Week 1.

One of the more impressive plays on the defensive side of the ball for the New York Giants in their impressive come-from-behind win in Week 1 was the hit Tae Crowder put on running back Derrick Henry.

The Tennessee Titans star is not only one of the league’s best running backs, but arguably one of the toughest to tackle — and one who often delivers punishing blows himself.

Given Henry’s reputation around the league, Crowders hit received a lot of recognition on social media. But he’s not real interested in bragging about it.

“I don’t really pay too much attention to it. I just try to prepare the right way, and it ended up being a good play,” he told reporters on Monday.

“I just know the D-line did a good job; everybody did a good job around me of flying to the ball.”

Crowder was selected with the final pick (255th overall) of the 2020 NFL draft and has been able to stick around with Big Blue over the last few years. Now, he’s is one of the more common names on the Giants defense, playing every defensive snap for Big Blue in Week 1.

As the Giants continue to build their roster and reshape the culture going forward, they can use more humble, team-first players like Crowder.
