Game Day Grades – Wisconsin vs. UW-Green Bay

What grades did Wisconsin earn following their victory over in-state foe UW-Green Bay?

Defense: B

Wisconsin’s defense at times allowed Green Bay to generate quality looks around the rim that they hadn’t allowed in past games. Green Bay finished the game with 36 points in the paint, which is the most points allowed in the paint this year by the Badgers.

Part of the reason why Green Bay was able to have success down low against Wisconsin was because Reuvers was dealing with foul trouble as he finished the game with four personal fouls. With Reuvers being in foul trouble it prevented him from being able to consistently contest shots as he finished the game with Wisconsin’s lone block.

With a majority of their points coming down low it allowed for the Phoenix to shoot 47.5 percent (29-for-61) from the field. As Green Bay put three players in double figures as Amari Davis led the Phoenix with 16 points as he shot 8-for-10 from the field. JayQuan McCloud was second with 13 points and Josh McNair had 10 points as the two combined to shoot 9-for-19 from the field.

One area where Wisconsin’s defense had a chance of having success was by creating turnovers against the Phoenix. However, Green Bay did a good job of taking care of the basketball as they committed a season low nine turnovers. Despite the nine turnovers being the fewest Wisconsin has forced this year they still managed to turn the Phoenix miscues into 13 points.
