Jameis Winston
The jury is still out on how Winston’s tenure in Tampa Bay will be viewed years from now. Off-the-field issues coupled with inconsistent play on the field marred his time with the Bucs, who had hoped the former Heisman Trophy winner would be their franchise cornerstone for the next decade-plus. Winston’s five-year run with the Bucs saw him become the franchise’s all-time leader in passing yards (19,737) and touchdowns (121), but he failed to get his team to the playoffs and had just one winning season. Winston also had one of the most memorable seasons ever by a quarterback in 2019, when he became just the eighth player ever to throw for 5,000 yards in a season, while also becoming the first QB ever to throw for at least 30 touchdowns and 30 interceptions in a season. With Brady expected to take over as the Bucs’ new QB, Winston will be searching for a new team for the 2020 season, and may ultimately have to settle for a backup role.
