Relive LB Derrick Brooks’ incredible 2002 season

The 2002 season was a memorable one for Derrick Brooks and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers took linebacker Devin White with the fifth overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft, marking the first time the franchise had taken a linebacker in round one since 1995, when they selected Derrick Brooks out of Florida State.

Brooks went on to have a Hall of Fame career with the Buccaneers, easily establishing himself as perhaps the best player to ever wear a Tampa Bay jersey. Brooks was part of the 2002 team that ended up winning Super Bowl XXXVII, the first and only championship in Bucs history.

The NFL sent out the below tweet recently, taking a look back at that magical season.

From Johnson to Brady: Every starting QB for the Bucs since their last playoff win

With news that Tom Brady is expected to sign with the Bucs, take a look now at every starting QB for the Bucs since their last playoff win.

With the news that six-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady is expected to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the NFL world and fans everywhere are bracing for what could be one of the most high-scoring offenses we’ve ever seen.

Brady, who struggled in New England last year with the Patriots without offensive playmakers, will have Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and O.J. Howard to throw to next season. Couple that with an experienced head coach in Bruce Arians and an improving defense, and the Bucs could potentially become the first team ever to play a Super Bowl in their home stadium. (Remember, Super Bowl LV will be in Tampa Bay next year, which was why the Bucs had to play in London this past season.)

The Super Bowl may seem like a dream still for some Bucs fans, especially when you consider Tampa Bay hasn’t been to the postseason since 2007, and hasn’t won a playoff game since their victory over the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl XXXVII following the 2002 season. But with Brady under center, the Bucs may finally — after years of going through QBs — get back to the Promised Land.

With that, let’s take a look now at all the QBs to start a game for the Bucs since that championship season as we prepare for the start of the Brady era in Tampa Bay.

Flashback Friday: Bucs down Raiders in Super Bowl XXXVII for first championship

Take a look back now at the highlights from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ big Super Bowl XXXVII win over the Oakland Raiders.

Super Bowl LIV will finally kick off on Sunday when the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs take the field in Miami.

While the Chiefs came within one win last year of playing in Super Bowl LIII, the Niners have come a long way since their 4-12 finish in 2018. San Francisco has gone from selecting second overall in last year’s NFL draft, a pick they used on Nick Bosa, to playing on Super Bowl Sunday.

The Niners are certainly no stranger to championships, but a turnaround like this has to be admired. And, speaking of turnaround, perhaps no franchise has experienced the highs and lows of NFL life quite like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who went from an 0-14 inaugural season in 1976 to hoisting the Lombardi Trophy following the 2002 season.
