Four-star defensive end to decide between Texas and Texas A&M

Another in-state player will be choosing between Texas and Texas A&M, as Jordan Thomas has announced the two rivals as his final two.

Since Texas A&M left for the SEC after the 2011 season, recruiting in the state of Texas has become how the rivalry has stayed alive. The Longhorns won the battle in 2020, signing five of the top 30 players from the state and 18 players overall.

Now, another in-state player will be choosing between Texas and Texas A&M, as Jordan Thomas has announced the two rivals as his final two choices.

The four-star defensive end from Port Arthur had offers from other Texas schools such as Baylor, Houston, TCU, and SMU, while LSU and Southern Miss were also interested. Coming in at 6-3 240 pounds, Thomas is the 15th best wide defensive end in the 2021 class.

If Thomas were to pick Texas, he would be the second defensive prospect in the 2021 class, joining outside linebacker Derrick Harris Jr.

Not only would this commitment mean the Longhorns are picking up a great defensive end, but it would be another win over the Aggies on the recruiting trail. Dominating the state of Texas has become the new standard for Tom Herman and securing Thomas further confirms the Longhorns win in-state battles.
