Texas head coach Tom Herman and Co. have made it a top priority to strengthen the defensive line, it looks like the plans have started to come to fruition.
After landing five-star defensive end Alfred Collins in 2020 and five-star defensive end Ja’Tavion Sanders in the 2021 class, the Longhorns have now received a verbal commitment from four-star defensive end Jordon Thomas on Saturday.

Thomas is the No. 25 overall rated player in the state of Texas in the 2021 recruiting class, according to 247Sports. The 6-3, 240-pound prospect from Port Arthur also received offers from LSU, Baylor, Texas A&M and TCU. The final head-to-head battle to land Thomas appeared to be between the Longhorns and the Aggies.
Defensive line coach Oscar Giles will have no shortage of talent to develop in the next several years.
