Position: Outside linebacker

Class: 2021

Hometown: Pearland, Texas

Other schools interested: Oklahoma, Texas A&M

Outlook

Facing off against rivals Oklahoma and Texas A&M for Cooks’ commitment, Texas seems to have it under control. The outside linebacker would be the third commit at the position, with four-star Derrick Harris Jr. and three-star Morice Blackwell also in the 2021 class.

Playing at Shadow Creek High School, Cooks will be looking for his second consecutive 5A-DI state championship this upcoming season. He totaled 72 tackles and forced three fumbles last season, getting second-team 5A-DI last season.

The Longhorns appear to be loading up on talent at the outside linebacker position this recruiting cycle. Cooks would add to a position Texas is going to be thin at starting this season.
