Detroit Lions Week 10 inactives: Hal Vaitai, Nick Williams, Jamal Agnew INACTIVE

Examining the Detroit Lions and Washington Football Team’s inactive lists as they enter their Week 10 matchup.

The Detroit Lions have declared their Game Day inactives for their Week 10 matchup with the Washington Football Team.

The Lions elected to elevate Dan Skipper and Frank Herron from the practice squad this week, meaning they enter today’s game with 55-players on their roster. Additionally, because they have kept eight offensive linemen on their active game-day roster, they are now eligible to expand their roster from 46- to 48-players, meaning they only need to declare seven players inactive.

Here are those seven players.

Lions inactives list

  • WR Kenny Golladay (hip) — Ruled OUT
  • WR Jamal Agnew (ribs)
  • OL Hal Vaitai (foot)
  • DT Nick Williams (Shoulder)
  • LB Jarrad Davis (knee)
  • QB David Blough
  • IOL Logan Stenberg

Golladay should be replaced by Marvin Hall in the starting lineup, but Quintez Cephus should also get a fair share of his snaps — especially with Agnew also out.

Agnew being out hurts on offense, but he will be missed on special teams, as he is their starting kick returner, punt returner, and gunner. Expect Danny Amendola to take over punts, Hall to take over kicks, and Mike Ford to step in at gunner.

Vaitai will be replaced at right guard by Joe Dahl — who is also banged up — but is in better shape. This is exactly why Dan Skipper was called up for depth.

Williams missing this game explains why Frank Herron was called up yesterday, and Herron figures to be thrown right into the mix.

Davis popped up on the injury report mid-week and like most mid-week injuries, it cost him an opportunity to play today.

With Matthew Stafford (neck) a full go and Chase Daniel the clear backup quarterback, Blough is inactive once again.

The Lions only needed eight offensive linemen active to get the game-day roster increase, so it’s not overly surprising Stenberg is inactive, as he has been on most weeks.
