Texas running back Roschon Johnson was selected by the Chicago Bears in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL draft with the 115th pick.
After originally signing with Texas to play quarterback, Johnson made the switch to running back weeks before his freshman year and immediately made an impact.
Johnson was a steady contributor in the Longhorns backfield all four years of his college career. He proved good enough to start for many teams in the nation but shared the spotlight with first-round pick Bijan Robinson.
2023 marks the first time since 1989 that Texas has had two running backs taken in the NFL draft.
The Bears are getting one of the more versatile prospects of the draft class in Johnson. He is a hard-nosed runner capable of making plays as a pass catcher. Johnson also excelled in his role on special teams with the Longhorns.
