Washington Football Team owner, exec won’t be at Cowboys game

Being around someone with COVID-19 will keep Dan Snyder, his wife and Team President Jason Wright away from the Cowboys game

The Washington Football Team will play the Dallas Cowboys in Texas on Thursday. However, the WFT will not have its owner, Dan Snyder, his wife, Tanya, and Team President Jason Wright in attendance.

The news was made public Wednesday through a statement via the team:

MRI reveals major damage to Joey Burrow’s left knee

Joe Burrow has major damage to his knee, per the results of an MRI.

The recuperation process for Cincinnati Bengals rookie quarterback Joey Burrow is going to be huge. The team had thought the No. 1 overall pick from LSU had only torn his left ACL. However, the MRI results are far worse.

The injury occurred on this play.

Who stopped Joe Burrow on his way to the end zone? Chase Young, that’s who.

Call it a version of Ohio State on Ohio State crime.

Washington’s Chase Young blasted his former Buckeye teammate Joe Burrow as the Cincinnati quarterback attempted to reach the end zone on a fourth-and-goal Sunday.

Watch: Matt Prater nails 59-yard field goal to save Lions against Washington

Matt Prater kicked a 59-yard field goal to spoil Alex Smith’s return as a starter

The Detroit Lions had seen a 24-3 lead evaporate. Alex Smith led a drive that resulted in a Washington Football Team field goal that tied the game at 27-27 deep in the fourth quarter. Would this be another awful loss for Matt Patricia?

Matt Prater to the rescue. Watch as the Lions’ kicker blasts a 59-yard field goal straight through the uprights to give Detroit a 30-27 victory on Sunday.

The kick spoiled Alex Smith’s first start in 728 days. The Comeback Player of the Year candidate led an amazing rally as the WFT erased a 24-point deficit.

The scoring play was a one-yard plunge by Antonio Gibson.

It capped a six-play, 75-yard drive that meant much more than six points on the scoreboard.

How one play can sum up the NFC East in 2020

Antonio Gibson fumbled and the race was on to recover it. Football follies.

The NFC East is awful. And the New York Giants and Washington Football Team showed how inept the division is on one play Sunday.

Watch as Antonio Gibson fumble and the Football Follies and Keystone Kops are on as neither team can cover the football.

Eventually, the Giants recovered. The NFC East, however, is not going to recover this season.

CFL linebacker charged with attempted murder in Pittsburgh

Jeffrey Knox Jr. of the Toronto Argonauts is wanted on multiple charges.

A difficult story out of Pittsburgh on Sunday as current Toronto Argonauts linebacker — and former NFL practice squad player — Jeffrey Knox Jr. has been charged with attempted murder.

Knox, who went undrafted in 2014 after playing college ball at California (Pa.), is being charged with two counts of attempted homicide, two counts of aggravated assault, as well as endangerment and firearms violations.

Knox spent time with Tampa Bay, Washington, and Tennessee on their practice squads.

Per Thestar:

Pittsburgh police responded to 911 calls Oct. 23 for two men shot in the city’s South Side Flats area. Police reports say two men were discovered with gunshot wounds to their legs. Both were taken to hospital and were listed in stable condition.

Police also said video footage showed a verbal dispute between three men, with one man —whom they identified as Knox Jr. — striking one of the other men in the face.

Cara Cruz, deputy public information officer for Pittsburgh Public Safety, said the incident occurred in a bar/nightclub area popular with college students.

The Argos said they are “well aware of the charges” and “take these matters seriously,” but have not yet determined how to proceed.

“We are currently looking into it and determining the appropriate next steps for our organization,” the statement said.

The CFL season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bostic was ejected for the hit on the QB.

The backup quarterback is Ben DiNiucci, who played his college ball in a reasonably close area at James Madison in Harrisonburg, Va.
