WATCH: Bills OC Brian Daboll gave fans a ride from game

Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll orchestrated the sweetest drive of Buffalo’s 8-3 season off the field following Sunday’s 20-3 win versus the Broncos (3-8).

The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reported this feel-good family story Wednesday ahead of the AFC East second-place team’s trip to Dallas to face the Cowboys on Thanksgiving.

Racheal Hall takes her 12-year-old son Ethan to a Bills game every year. Hall’s cousin Mike Bonefede is a 10-year season ticket holder and the group was heading New Era Field Sunday when Bonefede’s truck broke down. A mere four miles from the stadium, the five-person group Ubered the rest of the way in.

But after the Bills beat Denver, surcharge pricing pushed the cost of a trip all the way home to nearly $300. The group decided to begin walking away from the stadium with the hopes that distance and time away from the just-finished game would lead to more affordable pricing.

During the walk, Bonefede recognized a man in traffic with his window rolled down as the man in charge of the Bills offensive play calling, Daboll himself. Mike struck up a conversation which led to the offensive coordinator offering to drive the group to a nearby Tim Horton’s where they would be able to wait for an Uber the rest of the way.

Hall told the Democrat and Chronicle that she believed her cousin was simply friends with the kind driver and was discussing the game unknowingly, even referencing her son’s wish for his fantasy WR John Brown to catch a pass coming true. Eventually, Hall asked Daboll how he knew Bonefede and learned the truth: the group lucked into a ride from the game for free thanks to their team’s OC.

WATCH: Ravens QB Lamar Jackson breaks ‘Madden’ record

Ravens QB Lamar Jackson will hold the highest-ever speed rating for a QB at 96 in the new “Madden NFL” update.

Lamar Jackson’s mark on the NFL is now moving from the football field to the virtual world.

When the “Madden NFL” video game franchise makes its latest round of updates on Thanksgiving day, the Ravens quarterback will hold the highest-ever speed rating for a QB at 96. Michael Vick held the previous record at 95.

Vick told USA Today Sports that he’s honored to be part of Jackson’s rise:

“It’s like the passing of the torch. I’m gone, but not forgotten. Look, with every highlight that Lamar makes, it reminds people of me. It will remind people of Cam (Newton). It will remind people of Russell (Wilson). It will remind people of (Randall) Cunningham. Donovan (McNabb), all the mobile quarterbacks who came before us and who are going to come after us.

WATCH: Jets set unique scoring record with third straight win

The Jets (4-7) are the first team in the Super Bowl era to score 34 points in three straight games, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

A 1-7 start to the season for the Jets included starting three different quarterbacks in three weeks. In Week 12, New York (4-7) set a unique offensive record following its third consecutive win.

The Jets (4-7) are the first team in the Super Bowl era to score 34 points in three straight games, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

Quarterback Sam Darnold missed three games (and the team’s bye week) from Week 2 to Week 5 because of mono, but in the three wins in which the Jets offense scores 34 points, Darnold has 838 passing yards and seven touchdowns (one interception). The 22-year-old has completed 58 of 89 pass attempts over the course of those three wins.

The Jets face two of the NFL’s worst teams in succession, playing the Bengals (0-11) in Week 13 then the Dolphins (2-9) in Week 14, so there is a real chance that they keep their win streak going … even if the 34-point streak ends.

On Monday, Philadelphia Eagles guard Brandon Brooks revealed that anxiety is the reason for his first-quarter exit from Sunday’s game against the Seahawks.

The team initially labeled his ailment as general “illness,” but Brooks peeled back the curtain with a Twitter post explaining what he was dealing with.

Brooks has been open in the past about his struggles with anxiety, including when he missed two games in 2016 for related symptoms.

In a radio interview, Monday, Eagles coach Doug Pedersen said, “It’s something that he’s dealing with each and every day of his life. You never really know what triggers it. We’re here to support him, and we love him.”

When: Saturday, November 23

Time: 2:30 p.m. ET

TV: NBC

Live Stream: fuboTV (watch for free)

Amazingly, it’s been seven straight weeks that a team has had a bye before playing Notre Dame. Boston College is no different. Sitting at 5-5 with two games left, the Eagles need one more win to become bowl eligible. Running back AJ Dillon, who has the third-most rushing yards this season with 1,451, has been remarkable. BC was unable to come away with a win against Florida State on Nov. 23, losing 38-31 at home, but Dillon ran for 165 yards. Quarterback Dennis Grosel went 20-for-29 with 227 yards passing and two touchdowns.

Notre Dame (8-2) easily handled Navy last weekend in a 52-20 win. The Fighting Irish were led by quarterback Ian Book, who went 14-for-20 with 284 yards and five touchdowns. Four of those were caught by wide receiver Chase Claypool, who had 117 yards on just seven receptions. While Irish defensive tackle Jayson Ademiola is expected to play after a sprained ankle, Shayne Simon is officially done for the year after suffering what appears to be a torn patella tendon.

WATCH: Memphis freshman James Wiseman suspended 12 games

University of Memphis freshman James Wiseman will return to the hardwood on Jan. 12.

University of Memphis freshman James Wiseman will return to the hardwood on Jan. 12.

The NCAA announced Wednesday that the 7-foot-1 star is suspended 12 games, with 11 remaining at the time of the announcement.

Penny Hardaway paid $11,500 to help Wiseman and his family relocated to Memphis when the No. 1 recruit in the class of 2019 was in high school. At the time, Hardaway was an AAU coach and coach at East Memphis High School, where Wiseman enrolled.

As a former Memphis player and a donor, Hardaway qualified as a booster, making the financial help an impermissible benefit.

Hardaway is now the Tigers’ head coach.

The NCAA warned Memphis before the season began that the star rookie could be ineligible. The school, athletic department, and team decided to play Wiseman in three games anyway.

Memphis will appeal the suspension, saying Wednesday, “We expect a more fair and equitable resolution, and we will exhaust all avenues on James’ behalf.”

WATCH: Mitch Trubisky feels ‘day and night’ better Wednesday after suffering hip injury Sunday

Bears (4-6) quarterback Mitchell Trubisky says that he is feeling, “day and night,” better Wednesday compared to Sunday when he was benched after suffering a hip pointer during a sack.

Bears (4-6) quarterback Mitch Trubisky says that he is feeling, “day and night,” better Wednesday compared to Sunday when he was benched after suffering a hip pointer during a sack.

Matt Nagy sat the 25-year-old midway through the fourth quarter of the 17-7 loss to the Rams. Trubisky was 24-of-43 for 190 with a touchdown and interception at the time he stepped off the field for the day, leading to the belief that the head coach’s decision to pull the QB was based on performance. Postgame, Nagy made it clear that the decision was for the benefit of Trubisky’s health.

Nagy was hopeful Wednesday that Trubisky would return to practice and said that he was “day to day,” in regard to playing status for Sunday’s home game versus the Giants (2-8).

Trubisky explained that he was in too much pain to actually take a seat after being taken off the field Sunday, which made it appear perhaps like the decision was benching for poor play, explaining the feeling of the injury this way, “It’s above the hip. It’s like getting a Charley horse or a dead leg on the [quadriceps] except it’s above that area and it just makes your whole body tight. Running, and then obviously throwing when you gotta pull your right hip through … That motion, it just doesn’t feel comfortable.”

WATCH: Le’Veon Bell says he won’t take another drug test after having so many

Jets running back Le’Veon Bell says that he is not taking another drug test after this week.

Jets running back Le’Veon Bell says that he is not taking another drug test after this week.

Bell tweeted his frustration with the NFL’s random drug testing policy Wednesday, explaining that he has been asked to take five “‘random’ HGH [humane Growth Hormone] blood test(s)” in the last 10 weeks.

Bell’s full tweet Wednesday reads: “@NFL I’m not doing another after today, whatever y’all lookin for it obviously ain’t their & I’m not about to keep allowing y’all to stick me with those dirty ass needles..find the players who really do that HGH (expletive) & get off me..”

Bell declined a drug test in 2016 while with the Steelers and was issued a four-game suspension, which was reduced to three games, for the decision not to cooperate and not appearing for a mandatory drug test.

The 27-year-old was pulled out of the first two days of Jets training camp this summer and asked to take drug tests.

In his 10 games with the Jets (3-7) this season, Bell has 508 rushing yards on 161 carries and three touchdowns.

WATCH: Mason Rudolph apologizes for role in brawl with Browns’ Myles Garrett

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph apologized for his role in the on-field brawl between him and Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph apologized on Wednesday for his role in the on-field brawl between him and Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett.

Rudolph spoke to reporters for the first time since the Thursday Night Football fight on Nov. 14, reading a prepared statement before answering questions.

He said that he fell short of the expectation that comes with representing the Pittsburgh Steelers, a “first-class organization.” He also acknowledged that he put his teammates in a tough spot as he got into it with Garrett, specifically mentioning Maurkice Pouncey, who was handed a three-game suspension for his involvement in the fight.

Rudolph has not been suspended but will pay a fine, presumably the standard $35,096 for a first-time fighting violation.
