Celtics, NBA Twitter react to Boston’s 116-110 road win vs. Toronto Raptors

Punched in the mouth early, Boston did not give up and took the fight to Toronto in the game’s third quarter after an unfriendly whistle and sloppy play put them on their heels in the first half.

The Boston Celtics have their 20th win of the 2022-23 NBA season nearly a full month earlier than they did in their 2021-22 campaign, and the sort of play we saw from the Celtics on the road against the Toronto Raptors on the second night of a back-to-back Monday is a big part of the reason why.

Punched in the mouth early, Boston did not give up and took the fight to Toronto in the game’s third quarter after an unfriendly whistle and sloppy play put them on their heels in the first half. Big runs put the Celtics up double digits throughout much of the tilt’s final frame, making for one of the gutsier wins we’ve seen from Boston in some time.

Let’s take a look at what Celtics and NBA Twitter had to say about Boston’s 116-110 road win vs. Toronto.

NBA, Celtics Twitter react to Boston’s 103-92 road win over Brooklyn

Boston responded each time after their opponent threatened to take a lead.

The Boston Celtics got back in the win column with a convincing win over a surging Brooklyn Nets on Sunday evening, improving to 19-5 for the season as they maintain their hold on the Eastern Conference’s top spot with a 103-92 victory over the Nets.

Outstanding play from Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum in the absence of Marcus Smart — out with hip issues for the game — helped keep the Celtics in front for nearly the entire contest with Boston responding each time after their opponent threatened to take a lead. The Celtics turn around with a game against the Toronto Raptors on the road on Monday night but have this win to buoy them through a tough stretch of road games to start December.

NBA, Celtics Twitter react to Boston’s 120-116 overtime loss to Miami

In some ways, much of what plagued the Celtics in the latter rounds of the 2022 NBA Playoffs returned.

In the midst of the Boston Celtics deploying a historic offense that knocked opponents back on their heels with such consistency the team had in some ways become complacent in their ability to blast opposing defenses to bits, the Miami Heat found a way to junk up the most beautiful play in the league this season and come away with a win.

In some ways, much of what plagued the Celtics in the latter rounds of the 2022 NBA Playoffs returned, and with all the swagger of a juggernaut tamed, Boston simply ran out of answers for the Heat on Thursday night.

Let’s take a look at what NBA and Celtics Twitter had to say about the loss.

Perhaps in his own bid to be declared king (of the NBA), Jayson Tatum led the charge against a determined if banged-up Heat squad.

It isn’t very often when you have actualy royalty (as opposed to the King James variety) on the sidelines of an NBA game, but even with the Prince and Princess of Wales in attendance of the Boston Celtics’ 134-121 home win over the Miami Heat on Wednesday night at TD Garden, star Celtics forward Jayson Tatum managed to steal the show.

Perhaps in his own bid to be declared king (of the NBA), the St. Louis native led the charge against a determined if banged-up Heat squad on his way to a 49-point, 11-rebound performance for the ages that gave everyone in the arena (Windsor family included) something to remember.

Let’s take a look at how Celtics and NBA Twitter reacted.

Some of the best plays captured in images from the Celtics’ 22nd game of their 2022-23 campaign.

The Boston Celtics might have had a pair of special guests at TD Garden Wednesday night for their tilt with the Miami Heat, but even that could not distract the Celtics from earning another win and further cementing their status as the NBA’s top team, Boston beating Miami 134-121 in front of the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Superstar forward Jayson Tatum led all scorers as he put up a season-high 49 points along with 11 rebounds, star shooting guard Jaylen Brown chipped in another 26 points, 7 boards, and 5 assists, and reserve floor general Malcolm Brogdon added another 21 points and 6 rebounds off of the bench.

Tacko Fall: If fellow Celtics alum Jaylen Brown doesn’t make the 2023 All-Star team, ‘we riot’

The Senegalese center also made it known he believes Jayson Tatum should win MVP.

While it might be too early for some to be making calls on which players ought to be in the 2022-23 NBA All-Star Game (or for that matter, the 2023 NBA Kia Most Valuable Player award), for Boston Celtics big man alum Tacko Fall, his choices for who should represent the league’s Eastern Conference and this season’s MVP is clear.

Replying to Celtics Wire’s Cameron Tabatabaie on the latter’s recent tweet asking if Celtics star wing Jaylen Brown would be an All-Star again this season after dropping 36 points on the Washington Wizards on Sunday night at TD Garden, Fall had a simple answer.

Said the Senegalese center, “If not, we riot.”

It’s hard to be more straightforward than that, but the Central Florida alum wasn’t done advocating for his former teammates to be feted by the league.

“And (Jayson Tatum) for MVP,” threw in Fall for good measure, with both Brown and Tatum playing well enough that neither is especially controversial as a recipient of either honor — perhaps even favorites to be so honored.

Riot indeed!

Celtics, NBA Twitter react to Boston’s 130-121 home win over the Wizards

Down their best player, Boston made quick work of Washington

The Boston Celtics continue to plow through opponents in the early months of the 2022-23 NBA season, with their latest victim being the hapless Washington Wizards, who are struggling with an injury bug to many key players. But with the Celtics playing not only without injured forward Danilo Gallinari, starting center Robert Williams III, and MVP candidate Jayson Tatum, that isn’t too much of an excuse for the Wiz.

Down their best player, Boston made quick work of Washington, with the game nearly a wire-to-wire victory thanks to a huge performance from star wing Jaylen Brown and six players scoring in double figures to help pick up slack for the St. Louis native, including three bench players.

Let’s take a look at what Celtics and NBA Twitter had to say about the win.

With the win, the Celtics improved to 15-4 overall while consolidating their grip on the top spot in the league’s Eastern Conference standings.

On Friday night, the Sacramento Kings and Boston Celtics collided with the NBA’s two best offenses being brought to bear at TD Garden. When the final buzzer sounded, the Celtics came out on top in a big way thanks to the energy reserve guard Payton Pritchard and backup big man Luke Kornet provided Boston off of the bench late in the third quarter as much as the elite play of star wings Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

With the win, the Celtics improved to 15-4 overall while consolidating their grip on the top spot in the league’s Eastern Conference standings, Boston is now a game and a half ahead of the Milwaukee Bucks, the East’s (and the NBA’s) second-best ball club in terms of the standings.

Let’s take a look at what Celtics and NBA Twitter had to say about the win.

All in all, it was a scintillating contest that further cemented the Celtics’ status as a top team in the league this season.

The Boston Celtics showed what could happen on a night when nothing was falling for any of their players on the last game of their recent road trip, falling to a determined Chicago Bulls squad eager to stave off a deeper descent in the NBA standings.

But then the Celtics found their mojo again after seeing their league-best nine-game win streak snapped, drubbing the Dallas Mavericks 125-115 despite an epic showdown between Mavs star Luka Doncic and Celtics star Jayson Tatum tilting ever-so-slightly in favor of Doncic on the individual level. All in all, it was a scintillating contest that further cemented the Celtics’ status as a top team in the league this season.

Let’s take a look at what Celtics and NBA Twitter had to say about the win.

Whether the team meant it to be or not, their energy flagged throughout most of the contest, and their collective shot from beyond the arc simply was nowhere to be found.

The Boston Celtics possessed the longest win streak in the NBA when their road game against the Chicago Bulls kicked off on Monday night, but by the time the final buzzer sounded, the Celtics’ streak would end.

Much of the impetus of the loss may have been the streak itself, and the weight of getting the team up to compete at a high level without ever taking a night off. Whether the team meant it to be or not, their energy flagged throughout most of the contest, and their collective shot from beyond the arc simply was nowhere to be found.
