Could a A$AP Ferg – Jaylen Brown musical collaboration follow up their Rucker Park court project?

Asked who he’d most like to feature on a song out of players in the NBA, rapper A$AP Ferg named Brown.

Could we be about to witness the birth of the next NBA/ Hip Hop crossover collaboration? Fans of the Boston Celtics and All-Star forward Jaylen Brown, in particular, may recall that the Georgia native recently collaborated on a court — as in designing one with a Maya theme — at the New York City streetball mecca Rucker Park with rapper A$AP Ferg, and their time together evidently made an impression on the rapper.

Speaking in an interview at the Rolling Loud festival in New York City, A$AP Ferg was asked which NBA star he might most like to drop a feature on a new song, the rapper did not hesitate a second in replying Brown would be his choice. The Cal-Berkeley product is well-known to be a man of diverse interests who has dabbled with deejaying in the past, so he might well have a knack for it.

He would, if he did dive into the world of music, join teammate Marcus Smart in such a venture (h/t to Celtics Brr for the find).

No word from Brown as to whether the interest would be mutual but certainly something to keep our antenna up for just the same.

Celtics’ 2OT loss to the Wizards in five tweets: Reactions that explain the game

Moral victories are the worst kind, but they are better than none at all.

While a picture might be worth a thousand words, the constrained nature of Twitter often sees fans and analysts pack a whole lot of insight about a given NBA game into a comparatively few words.

This is perhaps one of the reasons why the Twitter-verse has long been the unofficial home for basketball fans to interact with one another and stay abreast of the news that matters for their favorite sport. To that end, we decided to pilot a new series featuring Twitter reaction to live-game action for the Boston Celtics that best sum up the on-court product.

Starting with Boston’s double-overtime loss to the Washington Wizards, let’s see what wisdom can be gleaned about the Celtics’ last game in just five tweets.

Boston Celtics players, Udoka’s thoughts on Ime’s first win as head coach

Head coach Ime Udoka secured his first win at the helm of the Boston Celtics Sunday, here’s what he and some players had to say post-game.

On the third try, this season the Boston Celtics secured its win No. 1 on the season and the first of head coach Ime Udoka’s career. The Celtics took down the Houston Rockets 107-97 as Jayson Tatum led the way with 31 points and nine rebounds against a young Rockets team. After the game, Udoka got a post-game shower and the game ball to celebrate the first tick in his head coaching win column.

“It’s special, I just got a water shower in there from the guys and the game ball,” Udoka said on the win. “But I told them it’s overdue, you guys took too long to get it. Thanked Jalen and Romeo for helping, being that they sat out tonight. So, it’s good to get it over with, but not just for the first but just kind of get us rolling on the right foot.”

It took getting past a two-overtime game and a rough home-opener performance to finally get the win Sunday.

Celtics players react to Ime Udoka’s first win vs. Rockets, give their head coach a surprise post-game shower

And true to character, Udoka had advice for them about their game in return.

The Boston Celtics got their first win of the 2021-22 NBA season with a 107 – 97 road victory over the Houston Rockets, which just so happens to be the very first win for new head coach Ime Udoka.

While it might not have been the prettiest or easiest win for the Celtics, big games from All-Star forward Jayson Tatum, veteran big man Al Horford and third-year swingman Grant Williams, the Udoka era is finally on track after two early losses. More than a typical win, the players were very excited to get the win for their head coach, and let Udoka know it with an impromptu celebration after the final buzzer sounded.

Multiple angles were of course captured for posterity.
