Best photos of Ohio State vs Michigan on Saturday

We share some of the best high-resolution photos of Ohio State football’s loss to the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday in Ohio Stadium.

OK, we know you may not be in the mood to look at some high-resolution photos of Ohio State football’s latest loss to Michigan, but maybe you might want to zone out and just look at some mind-numbing photos of those two uniforms on the field that lets you know you are watching college football royalty.

Or, maybe you are a Michigan fan and found this website. If so, we’d like to say welcome, but can’t bring ourselves to do so. Regardless, there was a lot of media in attendance for the latest installment of “The Game,” so that means there were a ton of photos snapped too.

We’ve poured through them to bring you the best of the best photos for you to scroll through and think about what should have been.

We’d say happy scrolling, but we know it’ll probably be a pretty solemn effort.

Michigan quarterback Davis Warren has bold comments for Ohio State players after flag planting

Do you agree with what Warren said? #GoBucks

Many Ohio State players were upset at the Michigan team trying to plant the flag on the Block O in the middle of Ohio Stadium after the Wolverines won a hard-fought 13-10 victory on Saturday afternoon — their fourth-straight win in the rivalry.

It ruffled so many feathers on the OSU sideline that a significant melee broke out that resulted in pepper spray being used to control things by the police on the field. Head coach Ryan Day said that Ohio State had some “prideful guys” that “weren’t going to let that happen.”

Michigan quarterback Davis Warren was asked about the incident and what unfolded afterward and seemed to rub salt in the wound of the OSU psyche by shrugging it off as something the Buckeyes could have prevented from occurring.

“We’re going to win in your house and we’re gonna plant the flag,” Warren told reporters after the game. “You should’ve done something about it.”

OK, well, I don’t know that’s exactly what I would teach my kids or players I coach in a competitive environment, but I guess he has a point for those that think there’s more than a college football game at stake here. I’d rather teach competitors to respect the opponent and both win (ahem, Michigan) and lose (looking at you Ohio State) with class.

Neither of that happened in the aftermath of “The Game” on Saturday and nobody should be proud of how it all unfolded.

WATCH: Everything Sherrone Moore said about Ohio State after the game

Everything Sherrone Moore said after his team beat Ohio State Saturday. #GoBucks

The Michigan football team came into the Horseshoe and beat Ohio State once again — now for the fourth time in a row despite being three touchdown underdogs according to Vegas coming into the contest.

Clearly, the Buckeyes are the better team but they weren’t on Saturday because of a pedestrian game plan and far too many mental and physical mistakes. At the end of the day, the Wolverines did just enough to win a low scoring, 13-10 affair.

Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore met with the media in Columbus to discuss the game and was clearly pleased — scratch that — elated with his team’s victory on Saturday and was happy to field questions.

If you didn’t catch what Moore said about Ohio State after the game, we have it thanks to video we took from our YouTube channel. In it you can hear about how proud he is of his team, comments on the postgame scuffle, the mindset of his team coming into the contest, and more.

It may seem like the end of the world right now, but Ohio State’s season isn’t over. It won’t make the Big Ten Championship game but will still almost assuredly be a part of the 12-team College Football Playoff.

More to come on that later.

WATCH: Ryan Day searches for answers in Michigan postgame press conference

Day had to face the music after the loss Saturday. Watch and listen to what he said. #GoBucks

It’s official. Ohio State lost to Michigan once again, its fourth-straight in the rivalry and now the players, coaches, and fans are left to pick up the pieces. OSU head coach Ryan Day knows what this game means and was clearly devastated afterwards when he met with the media to face the music.

Day lamented the inability to run the ball, execute in the red zone, and ultimately, do enough to win and send all of those seniors that came back for one more season out the right way.

It was a vey solemn press conference for Day, and we have the entire thing here in case you missed any of his comments. The video is courtesy of the CBS affiliate, WBNS 10TV in Columbus.

Watch and listen to Day as he answers questions on his future, the inability to adjust on offense with the game plan, the postgame brawl that occurred after Michigan tried to plant its flag at midfield, and more.

Ohio State will now look to see what its College Football Playoff seed will be moving forward. The season is not over, but the team will have to try and move forward after a crushing defeat.

WATCH: Tempers flare after Ohio State loses to Michigan in postgame brawl

Not a good look for either team.

The Ohio State football team lost to Michigan once again — its fourth-straight in the rivalry. There were plenty of mistakes and missteps that contributed to the ugly, 13-10 result, but none of it was as ugly as what unfolded after the contest.

Once the clock struck 0:00, Michigan players began to wave goodbye to the crowd and then attempted to plant the “Block M” flag at midfield on the “Block O” of Ohio Stadium. That clearly led to some hurt feelings and defensive aggressions from OSU players that ran to stop the scene from unfolding.

Watch as Ohio State and Michigan engage in a significant squirmish after the game that seemed to result in some injuries, pepper spray (reportedly), and more at midfield on the banks of the Olentangy thanks to video from Nicole Shearin of WBNS 10TV in Columbus.

This is an ugly, ugly scene for college football and we clearly don’t condone this behavior. Both teams will blame the other, but it’s clear that both could have showed more class both in winning and losing.

Ohio State football fans rage on social media after historic loss to Michigan

Ohio State football lost to Michigan at home as a near three-score favorite Saturday. The Buckeyes fanbase was raging after the defeat.

Ohio State football had a nearly flawless season until today. Sure, it had a loss on the road to the No. 1 team in the country, Oregon, on its resume, but that was easy to look over given the Ducks dominance.

The Buckeyes welcomed their rival to Ohio Stadium and closed as a near three-score favorite. It was time for Ryan Day to finally get back at Michigan after having lost the most important game on the Ohio State schedule for the last few seasons.

Unfortunately, that’s not what happened, and the Buckeyes lost a grueling 13-10 physical contest. The Wolverines drove and kicked a field goal with under two minutes to go to seal the win.

No one expects the Buckeyes season to be over as they should easily be in the College Football Playoff, and despite having just two losses on the season, fans are far from happy.

Let’s dive into a few of the most dramatic tweets from Day and the Buckeyes yet again losing to Michigan.

It’s a sad day in Columbus and these social media posts show how raw the emotion can be of losing to your arch-rival four-straight years.

Ohio State football vs. Michigan Wolverines: 3 and out halftime observations

Ohio State football vs. Michigan Wolverines: Halftime observations #GoBucks

The Ohio State football team is heading into halftime tied with the Michigan Wolverines at 10-10, and one of these teams was not ready to play. The Buckeyes were expected to win by more than three touchdowns and now I think they are just hoping to come away with a win.

There is not of positive to takeaway from this game other than the fact that the offense showed some life with its last drive earning the tying touchdown. Quarterback Will Howard has had an up and down game and went down briefly due to a serious hit on a q-run.

The offense has also not really gotten on track, especially in the running game, but we’ll dive into that. Here are three halftime observations from Ohio State’s first half against Michigan, one in which the teams headed to the locker room tied at 10-10.

The receivers are open

USA TODAY SMG

Will Johnson is not playing and the Michigan defensive backfield can clearly not compete with these Ohio State receivers. Jeremiah Smith looks like he found his groove a bit and Carnell Tate is open almost ever play. I would expect the Buckeyes to lean into the passing attack more in the second half.

Will Howard is healthy

Michigan Wolverines defensive back Makari Paige (7) tackles Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Will Howard (18) with the help of Michigan Wolverines linebacker Ernest Hausmann (15) on a run during the second quarter of the NCAA football game at Ohio Stadium in Columbus on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024.

The whole stadium went silent when Howard went down, but he is back and better than ever. After throwing an early interception, Howard looks like a new man and heads into halftime completing 12 of 18 passing attempts for 119 yards.

Don’t expect an explosion

This rivalry has historically been a barnburner the last decade, but this year is not going to play out that way. Ohio State has the ability to embarrass Michigan in the second half, but after witnessing the last three years, we just need to hope Ryan Day can get the win.

Ohio State football issues availability report for Michigan game

Ohio State football issues availability report for Michigan game #GoBucks

Ohio State football will hit the field against the Michigan Wolverines today for Senior Day and the last home game of the regular season. After losing three Michigan games in a row, Ryan Day will be looking to keep his foot on the gas today and it appears the roster will be healthy enough to do just that.

We obviously already knew that the offensive line would be without two starters as offensive tackle, Josh Simmons went down with a season-ending injury earlier in the year and starting center, and Seth McLaughlin suffered a season-ending injury last week at practice before the game against the Indiana Hoosiers.

Zen Michalski should also be thrown in on this list as he was the starter in Josh Simmons’ absence, but also suffered an injury earlier in the season, but as far as any new faces on the injury report, it appears to be as clean as we could hope. The full report is as follows:

Out

WR Nolan Baudo
RB TC Caffey (Season)
C Seth McLaughlin (Season)
OT Zen Michalski
OT Josh Simmons (Season)
WR Reis Stocksdale

Michigan star defensive back Will Johnson status revealed for Ohio State game

Interesting indeed. #GoBucks

We are on the doorstep of another Ohio State vs Michigan rivalry game and there are plenty of storylines to watch. One of those is the status of Wolverine star defensive back, Will Johnson, widely regarded as a first-round NFL draft pick come April.

Johnson has been dealing with an injury for a few games now but there were rumors that he might make it back for the game against the Buckeyes. However, based on multiple reports, he is expected to not play when things kick off for “The Game” at Noon ET on Saturday.

Johnson’s absence is huge if true. He has only played in six games this season and the Michigan pass defense has suffered greatly because of it, allowing 222.3 yards per game (No. 72 in FBS), while giving up 6.6 yards per pass attempt (remember, that includes incompletions).

Having an All-American and potential top-ten NFL draft pick sidelined for the bitter rivalry on Saturday could unlock the passing game for Ohio State already more than what the gameplan would have called for.

We’re still awaiting the status of Michigan’s star tight end, Colston Loveland as well. He left the Northwestern game last week with a shoulder injury. Head coach Sherrone Moore said that he is “trending in the right direction” at his press conference on Monday, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Ohio State basketball vs. Pitt: How to watch, stream the game

Big Ten-ACC showdown #GoBucks

For the second week in a row, the Ohio State basketball team will do battle on the hardwood the day before a pretty big football game. The Buckeyes welcome the Pitt Panthers to Value City Arena for a Big TenACC matchup.

Pitt comes into the contest with a record of 6-1 on the season. The Panthers were undefeated before recently falling to Wisconsin in the Greenbriar Tipoff Classic in White Sulpher Springs, WV. Pitt led the game at halftime but would come up short 81-75.

The Panthers and Buckeyes have played only one other time in their history. In December of 2002, Pitt bested OSU with a 20-point victory. Ohio State will look to even out the series on Friday.

Here’s how to catch all the action.
