California 2025 athlete is offered a scholarship by Notre Dame

Another offer to an intriguing athlete

It may seem like the 2025 recruiting class is a ways off, but, in actuality, it isn’t and [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] is trying to get ahead of the ball.

Already with one commit in that class, Florida defensive lineman Davion Dixon, head coach [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] is looking for more.

One of those players is California athlete [autotag]Adonyss Currie[/autotag], who was offered a scholarship by the Irish on Monday. The 6-foot, 3-inch and 170-pound two-way player also excels on the track.

The speed Currie possess plays for both sports and he could end up on either side of the ball at the next level. He is rated as the 26th overall cornerback and 233rd prospect in his class on the 247Sports composite. Currie’s speed would look good as a wide receiver also.

A total of seven teams already have 30 or more wins, with four more knocking on the door of that mark. Find out below which teams lead their respective side of the conference, starting with the Atlantic.

Notre Dame offers intriguing 2024 Nebraska athlete

The Irish are in early for this Nebraska athlete

It isn’t always about what you can do on a football field that will get you a [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] offer.

Academics plays a big part in the process for the Irish, and Nebraska athlete [autotag]Teddy Rezac[/autotag] checks all the boxes for head coach [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag]. The 6-foot, 4-inch and 200-pound athlete not only excels on the gridiron, but also in the classroom.

Rezac is a member of the National Honor Society while leading his team to a state championship in football this past season. His stat line is absurd, doing a bit of everything to help his team win a title. Oh, and now Rezac has a Notre Dame offer.

It’s the first big offer for Rezac, who held a few other offers but none as significant as the Irish. He’s the 102nd athlete and 946th overall player according to the 247Sports composite, but it most likely haven’t seen much of him at all.

No one really has, but after Notre Dame offered Missouri followed suit. Other most likely will follow as it looks like the Irish were very early on offering an intriguing athlete in Rezac.

Notre Dame Football on NBC: Soon a thing of the past?

Should they stay or should they go?

“The only constant is change” is probably a phrase you’ve heard many times in your life. This saying also applies to football and never more so than the present. Big changes like expanding the playoff, legalizing NIL, teams moving to different conferences and the no sit-out transfer rule are reshaping the game.

Along with these on-field alterations, what goes on off the field is also changing. Massive TV deals are being made, and these deals are the financial engines that drive college football by guaranteeing revenue to each school regardless of on-field performance. Notre Dame’s longstanding deal with NBC is set to expire after 2024 and much negotiating is needed regarding what the future may hold in this regard.

Has the Notre Dame / NBC relationship run its’ course? Let’s examine this topic.

Notre Dame offers transfer defensive back a scholarship

The Irish are looking for some depth

It might not seem like [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] head coach [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] is concerned with his secondary this fall, but an offer to a transfer suggests that might not be the case.

With [autotag]Benjamin Morrison[/autotag] and [autotag]Cam Hart[/autotag] holding down the starting spots and transfer [autotag]Thomas Harper[/autotag] most likely taking care of the nickel, it seems like the Irish would be set.

An offer to Rhode Island transfer cornerback Antonio Carter might tell a bit more of what Freeman thinks about the group. The three starters will be fine, but the depth might not be up to the head coach’s standard at the moment.

Carter has made a few visits already since entering the portal and the Irish are a bit late to the party. We will see if the timing of the offer matters for Notre Dame and the transfer corner.

247Sports thinks this Notre Dame player created a lot of buzz during the spring

The sky is the limit

When quarterback transfer Sam Hartman committed to [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag], the question of who was he going to throw to was passed around.

Plenty of names were suggested but one, [autotag]Jaden Greathouse[/autotag], wasn’t really mentioned. Much of that was due to many of us not knowing how good the early enrolling freshman was, but after the spring we all know who he is.

It’s not just Irish fans that noticed, 247Sports did as well, with Greathouse being named as one of eleven players across the county who generated substantial buzz after spring practice.

The Texas native entered the program with high expectations, but those rose significantly following an extremely impressive spring. Their national analyst Blake Brockermeyer called Greathouse a “sure-fire year 1 contributor.”

Following a huge Blue and Gold game, the hype for Greathouse has continued and many, including myself, think he has the potential to be the next great Irish receiver.

Notre Dame stays hot on recruiting trail, lands Kennedy Urlacher commitment

The Irish get another commitment in the 2024 class

The [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] football team is on fire in the 2024 recruiting class once again.

Over the last week the Irish have seen wide receiver Isiah Canion and defensive lineman Bryce Young pledge. You can add one more name to that list: safety [autotag]Kennedy Urlacher[/autotag].

The son of Hall of Fame linebacker Brian Young, Bryce committed to the Irish on Monday evening, keeping head coach [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] at the spearhead of another recruiting charge.

Urlacher is a bit smaller than his father. He is 6-feet and 190 pounds and is the 57th-best safety and 607th overall prospect on the 247Sports composite.

The younger Urlacher becomes the 13th commit for the Irish in the 2024 cycle, which has Notre Dame rising once again in the class rankings. The group is rated fifth overall in 247Sports team rankings.

Which Notre Dame players could be first round picks in 2024 NFL draft

Who do you think has a chance to go early from the Irish?

In a bit of a shock, [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] did not have a player selected in the NFL draft’s first round.

Many expected tight end [autotag]Michael Mayer[/autotag] to go off the board on the first evening, but the former All-American had to wait until early on day two to get picked.

If the 2024 mock drafts and big boards that have been released are correct, or even close to it, Irish faithful won’t have to wait nearly as long to hear one of their favorite stars names being called.

Let’s take a look at a few outlets and which Notre Dame star they believe will be selected early next year.

Notre Dame’s Path Forward Is Narrow But Clear

Just because of recent departures in the transfer portal doesn’t mean Notre Dame can’t still do big things under Marcus Freeman.

Now that the initial “shock” phase of the news that Notre Dame quarterback [autotag]Tyler Buchner[/autotag] and others have decided to take their talents to locations outside South Bend is starting to subside, it’s time to talk about what comes next. It’s not an easy discussion, not a comfortable one, but I think the path just became clearer for Notre Dame even amidst some uncertainty.

There are layers to this dynamic. Short-term outlooks and big-picture ones. Risks & rewards. Pluses and minuses. Make no doubt about it one thing is clear. [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] has his own vision for how he wants to build his team, roster, and his program. And his vision is vastly different from what his predecessor’s was.

Let’s take a look at Notre Dame’s new path to success.

Notre Dame makes top three for 2024 California linebacker

The Irish will have one more chance to impress the top linebacker

Although it might have been gotten a bit lost in the draft hoopla last night, California linebacker [autotag]Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa[/autotag] released his final three schools with [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] as one of them.

The St. John Bosco star also included USC and Ohio State as teams he is still considering playing for. Viliamu-Asa has great size for the position at 6-foot, 3-inches and 230 pounds.

He’s rated among the best in the country, 8th at linebacker and 103rd overall according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Reading into his recruitment, Viliamu-Asa currently has a scheduled official visit to all three schools, with the Irish sandwiched between visits in the middle of June. He was in South Bend during the Blue and Gold game, his second visit.

The timing of his return visit to South Bend isn’t ideal, but it won’t matter if head coach [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] and his staff hit a home run on the visit.
