Linebacker Darrian Beavers suffered a torn ACL, and will miss the rest of the 2022 season.

A sixth-round pick out of Cincinnati, Beavers had been impressing throughout training camp, but will now have to spend the rest of his rookie year rehabbing from the injury.

The New York Giants placed rookie offensive lineman Marcus McKethan on injured reserve Saturday, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

McKethan, a fifth-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft out of North Carolina, suffered an ACL injury.

While he was expected to compete for a roster spot this season, McKethan will now have to focus on recovery and rehab, and wait to make his on-field impact next season.

Kayvon Thibodeaux, the No. 5 overall pick in this year’s draft, is excited for the chance to show off his arsenal of pass-rushing moves in a more realistic training camp scenario, per John Fennelly of Giants Wire:

“I’m very excited. There are a lot of things as a pass rusher, as a defensive guy, you aren’t able to do without pads. The offense has the baggy jerseys you can just pull on them. Now it’ll be more of a fair game. I’ll be able to use all the moves I’ve been working on.”

Thibodeaux was a dominant force at Oregon, though he was slowed by injury for much of last season. At full strength, Thibodeaux should give the Giants the impact player off the edge that they’ve desperately needed for the last few years.

The New York Giants have signed two members of their 2022 NFL draft class to rookie contracts

The New York Giants have signed two members of their class from the 2022 NFL draft, as wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson and safety Dane Belton both signed their rookie deals Monday.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport first reported the news, which the team confirmed later in the day.

Robinson, a second-round pick out of Kentucky, gives the Giants another undersized-but-explosive weapon for Daniel Jones and the offense. Belton, a fourth-rounder out of Iowa, adds depth and youth to a secondary in need of replacing some experience, following the departure of veteran cornerback James Bradberry.

With the signings, the Giants now have their entire 2022 draft class under contract before training camp.
