WATCH: Commanders RB Brian Robinson Jr. scores 1st career NFL TD

Less than two months after suffering multiple gunshot wounds, Brian Robinson Jr. scored his first NFL touchdown

Less than two months after suffering multiple gunshot wounds, Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. scored his first NFL touchdown Thursday night.

Robinson, a third-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft out of Alabama, made a swift recovery from his injuries, and returned to the team in Week 5. Thursday night, he found the end zone for the first time in his career, giving the Commanders the lead halfway through the fourth quarter.

What a moment for Robinson, and likely the first of many triumphant trips to the end zone.

WATCH: Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey rips off 19-yard TD run

Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey came up with a clutch 19-yard TD run to start the second half against the 49ers.

Christian McCaffrey wouldn’t let the Carolina Panthers die today—at least not coming out of the break.

Down 17-3 at the start of the second half, quarterback Baker Mayfield—who threw an awful pick-six to end the first one—and the Panthers offense began their uphill battle with a spark. Thanks to a 45-yard kickoff return by running back Raheem Blackshear, Carolina set up shop at their own 49-yard line.

What would ensue was a seven-play, 51-yard scoring drive—capped off by a 19-yard run to the end zone from McCaffrey on a fourth-and-1.

Unfortunately, however, McCaffrey and the Panthers wouldn’t be as successful on their subsequent two-point attempt.  Following a handoff from backup quarterback PJ Walker, the star rusher was stuffed right at the doorstep—keeping the score at 17-9 with 11:57 remaining in the third quarter.

To that point, McCaffrey rushed for 53 yards on 11 carries. He also reeled in four receptions for 31 yards.

WATCH: Panthers QB Baker Mayfield throws egregious pick-6 to 49ers

For the second straight week, Panthers QB Baker Mayfield tossed a cringeworthy pick-six.

The Carolina Panthers offense has been consistently inconsistent. And they have quarterback Baker Mayfield to mostly thank for that.

For the second consecutive Sunday, Mayfield tossed a pick-six. This time, on what actually wasn’t a batted pass, his throw found the hands of San Francisco 49ers cornerback Emmanuel Moseley—who took the interception back for a 41-yard return to the end zone.

Following a timely blocked field goal by the duo of defensive linemen Derrick Brown and Yetur Gross-Matos, the Panthers took over at their own 22-yard line down just seven with the first half winding down. Then—a handful of plays later at the 55-second mark—Mayfield made a questionable decision to pump fake his attempt, and proceeded to miss running back Christian McCaffrey.

He didn’t, however, miss the Greensboro, N.C. native in Moseley.

In addition to the 14-point deficit, Carolina carried just 133 yards of total offense into the break. Mayfield completed 10 of his 17 throws for 95 yards to that point.

WATCH: Alvin Kamara gains 54 yards on the longest reception of his career

WATCH: Alvin Kamara gains 54 yards on the longest reception of his career

You don’t see that every day. Alvin Kamara caught a screen pass from Andy Dalton in Sunday’s game with the Seattle Seahawks and followed his blockers to cross the field and gain 54 yards, making it the longest reception of his career. Fantastic blocking in space by interior linemen Erik McCoy, Cesar Ruiz, and Andrus Peat helped spring him for a huge gain.

It was the second-longest gain of Kamara’s career (he ran 74 yards for a touchdown against the Los Angeles Rams as a rookie in 2017) and the most yardage he’s ever gained as a receiver, with most of it coming after the catch. His previous career-long was a 52-yard reception in 2020 against the Green Bay Packers, also picked up on a designed screen. It’s exactly the kind of play the Saints offense has missed from him the last two years. Hopefully they can find more big plays like it.

WATCH: Bucs extend lead vs. Falcons on Tom Brady TD pass to Leonard Fournette

Watch the Tampa Bay Buccaneers extend their lead over the Atlanta Falcons on a touchdown pass from Tom Brady to Leonard Fournette

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have extended their lead against the Atlanta Falcons, thanks to Leonard Fournette’s second touchdown of the day.

This was another one-yarder, but it came through the air, as Tom Brady found Fournette off a play-action fake for the short score.

After a successful two-point conversion from Brady to wide receiver Russell Gage, the Bucs now hold a 20-0 advantage over their NFC South rivals.

Just like the previous touchdown drive, this one was also set up by another big play from Brady to Mike Evans, who nearly got the touchdown himself on a 40-yard catch-and run.
