Browns Vs Ravens inactive lists

With 10 questionable players going into the game for the Ravens and two for the Browns, who is officially inactive for SNF:

The Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens face off on Sunday Night Football in an important game in the AFC North. The Ravens lead the division going into Week 12 while the Browns, despite a 6-5 record, sit in the basement.

Going into the game, Baltimore had 10 players listed as questionable while Cleveland had two. For the Ravens, there are a few big names on their questionable list with Calais Campbell and Marquise Brown perhaps the biggest.

With about 90 minutes to go until Sunday Night Football, both teams have released their official inactive lists:

Cleveland

  • WR Anthony Schwartz
  • FB Andy Janovich
  • S Richard LeCounte III
  • DE Ifeadi Odenigbo
  • OL James Hudson III
  • WR Rashard Higgins
  • DT Tommy Togiai

Baltimore

  • WR Miles Boykin
  • OL Cedric Ogbuehi
  • DE Calais Campbell
  • CB Jimmy Smith
  • CB Chris Westry
  • TE Josh Oliver

Will any of the missing players have a big impact on the result of the game? Campbell is obviously the big name but the Browns inactives are interesting as well.

Browns Vs Ravens: How Baltimore has won, lost this year

How have the Ravens won, loss this season? What can the Browns learn?

The Baltimore Ravens are 7-3 while already having their bye week in 2021. The Ravens were expected to be a contender this season but have suffered injury upon injury that has limited the team’s talent level and depth. Despite all of that, they have found ways to get victories while their Week 12 opponent, the Cleveland Browns, have found ways to lose similar games.

This week’s AFC North matchup could be the most important game in the division this year. A Browns win could boost their confidence going into the bye week and the rematch in Week 14. A Cleveland loss could send them into a spiral or major changes during their bye.

For Baltimore, who are fighting a number of injuries this week, Week 12 is a chance to try to put a nail in the coffin, at least for the AFC North, for one of their opponents. Cincinnati and Pittsburgh also have winning records this year.

In preparation, we looked back at the Ravens season so far to see how they won and lost games so far:

Joel Bitonio, Malcolm Smith earn top PFF grades from Browns Week 11 win over the Lions

Joel Bitonio, Malcolm Smith earn top PFF grades from Browns Week 11 win over the Lions

The Pro Football Focus grades for the Browns’ Week 11 win over the Detroit Lions are out, and two Cleveland players scored elite-level marks for their performances in Sunday’s victory.

Left guard Joel Bitonio and linebacker Malcolm Smith earned grades above 90.0 overall in the win over Detroit. Bitonio topped all Browns offensive players with a 90.9 overall grade, while Smith landed a 90.5 mark on the back of his interception.

Several other Browns (min. 10 snaps) scored over a 75.0 overall grade.

CB Denzel Ward – 85.8

RB Nick Chubb – 83.8

LB Mack Wilson – 81.8

S Ronnie Harrison – 79.9

CB Greedy Williams – 79.7

RB D’Ernest Johnson – 79.1

C JC Tretter – 78.1

TE David Njoku – 75.7

DE Myles Garrett – 75.5

On the other side of the coin, several Browns earned some pretty poor grades. Most of them were associated with Cleveland’s poor run defense in the game.

DT Jordan Elliott – 29.4

DT Malik McDowell – 30.2

LB Sione Takitaki – 35.5

TE Harrison Bryant – 42.3

DE Jadeveon Clowney – 47.2

Browns barely tame the Lions: What we know after the win

A sloppy, ugly game but a win is a win. A few things we learned about the Browns in Week 11:

The Cleveland Browns defeated the Detroit Lions 13-10 in their Week 11 matchup in a game that was ugly all around for both teams. The difference is that the home team Browns were expected to compete with the top of the league while the Lions still haven’t won a game this season.

Despite that, the game came down to late in the fourth quarter and Cleveland needing to salt away time on the back of running back Nick Chubb and the team’s offensive line.

The defense did their part most of the game but allowed D’Andre Swift to break a long 57-yarder and finish the game with 136 yards on 14 carries. With Tim Boyle making his first NFL start, the Browns defense didn’t have much of a threat in the passing game and had two interceptions.

As we noted Saturday, this was a no-win game for the Browns. Barely beating the lowly Lions was only slightly better than losing to them in terms of the narrative discussion but is significantly important in the standings.

What did we learn in Week 11?

Browns Vs Lions: Week 11 highlights

Keeping up with all the big highlights from Browns Vs Lions in Week 11. Rewatch them all here:

The Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions locked horns in Week 11 of the NFL season. The Browns, with their high expectations, need a win to keep from falling below .500. The Lions, transitioning under Dan Campbell, are looking for their first victory no the season.

Cleveland has been a little up and down when it comes to highlights. Some games bring highlight after highlight. Some games, like last week, are bereft of them.

With weather a concern for the game, it would not be shocking to see a low scoring game but a wet ball could lead to turnovers. A wet field could lead to slipping issues especially with defenders who are reacting to the offensive players.

We will post all the big highlights for you to rewatch here from today’s game:

Browns vs. Lions Week 11: How to watch, listen and stream

Browns Vs Lions: How to watch, listen and stream along with the referee assignment and link to our friend’s (Jeff Risdon) Lions Wire site:

The Cleveland Browns turned the page on an eventful week in Week 9 with a victory. In Week 10, without Nick Chubb, Demetric Felton and others, the team failed miserably to build on the momentum.

The Browns now face the Detroit Lions in a game they are expected to win. Thankfully, the AFC has been full of teams struggling to be consistent all year, keeping Cleveland in the playoff race despite their 5-5 record.

The Lions, on the other hand, are coming off their first non-loss of the season after tying the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. At 0-8-1, Detroit ensured they would not become the first team ever with an 0-17 record. This week, they aim for their first victory of the season.

Browns Vs Lions: Who is QB Tim Boyle?

Who is Tim Boyle and did he create his own college highlight reel and put it up on YouTube? We try to answer both questions:

The Detroit Lions are doubtful to have quarterback Jared Goff available to start for them against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday in Week 11. Goff was injured against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10 but was able to finish the game.

If Goff can’t play, as expected, Tim Boyle is likely to start in his place with David Blough backing him up. Boyle is an unknown to many fans especially the Browns. Here is what we know about him before he likely starts in Cleveland:

  • 6’3″, 220+ pounds
  • Undrafted out of Eastern Kentucky where he threw for over 2,000 yards, 11 TDs and 13 INTs as a senior in 2017
  • Strong arm not highly mobile
  • Played in 11 games for the Green Bay Packers since entering the league in 2018
  • Has completed three of his four pass attempts as a pro for 15 yards and one first down
  • Was mostly used late in blowout games for the Packers where he is credited with 18 rushes for -16 yards as he kneeled the ball to end games
  • He may have made his own college highlight reel on YouTube (the poster is Tim Boyle in a video of Tim Boyle) at the end of his senior season:

In Week 11, Boyle steps in against Myles Garrett, Jadeveon Clowney and the rest of the Cleveland defense in desperate need of another big game. While his history lacks any reason to believe he will be successful, anything can happen on a given Sunday in the NFL.

Jared Goff misses practice as Lions dealing with injuries as well

The Browns aren’t the only team dealing with injury issues. The Lions could be without their starting QB in Week 11:

The Detroit Lions come into town to face off with the Cleveland Browns in Week 11. The story in Cleveland continues to be the multiple injuries and players missing practices and games.

So far this week, we’ve learned that Baker Mayfield’s three injuries kept him out of the first practice, Kareem Hunt will miss another game, Nick Chubb, Demetric Felton and John Kelly are still on the COVID-19 list and Donovan Peoples-Jones once again hurt his groin.

The Browns are not alone in dealing with injuries. Lions starting quarterback Jared Goff missed practice today due to an oblique injury that he suffered last week in the team’s tie with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

As shared on Lions Wire, Lions head coach Dan Campbell said that Goff’s injury would be day-to-day:

“Look, we’re just taking it day-to-day. He’s going to sit today and we’ll reassess tomorrow, see how he’s feeling,” Campbell said of Goff’s injury. “There’s pain management to it, and some of it will be if we can get it to calm down a little bit where it’s more manageable, where he feels like he can step into the throw and really put a lot of zing on it.”

If Goff can’t go, it looks like Tim Boyle will take his place. Boyle is technically still on the team’s injured reserve list but was designated to return. Former Browns backup David Blough was Goff’s backup last week but didn’t see the field despite the starter’s injury.

Browns Week 10 snap counts versus Patriots: Lots of special teams usage

Who played how many snaps in the Browns pitiful performance on Sunday? JOK was limited in his return, JJ3 plays all the defensive snaps and a lot on STs and non-D’Ernest Johnson backs get 9 total snaps. That and more here:

The Cleveland Browns were destroyed by the New England Patriots on Sunday. There is so little, yet so much, to break down about the game. The Browns were held scoreless after their opening drive and couldn’t get stops on defense, forcing only one punt.

On special teams, Jamie Gillan was the star of the show while JoJo Natson’s inability to field the lone Patriots punt cost the team valuable field position.

Taking a look at snap counts from the game shows a few interesting pieces of data including running back usage and a majority of the defense also playing special teams snaps.

Browns blowout loss to Patriots fuels the many questions that plaque the team

We have questions after Browns failures in Week 10 versus the Patriots. A few starting questions here, more to come:

The Cleveland Browns are now 5 – 5 going into Week 11 of the 2021 season. The team was destroyed in almost every way possible in Week 10 against the New England Patriots. Cleveland’s preseason expectations seem like a year ago given where the team is at this point.

New England, on the other hand, looks to have retooled perfectly with a rookie quarterback and Bill Belichick calling the shots.

Jones only threw for 198 yards but had three touchdowns and looked calm in the pocket all game. Rookie running back Rhamondre Stevenson had 20 carries for 100 yards and two touchdowns while Kendrick Bourne and Brandon Bolden had over 10 yards per carry on three carries each.

Jones used a wide variety of pass-catchers with five catching three or more including tight end Hunter Henry’s two touchdown receptions.

For the Browns, so many questions with almost no answers. They have lost to the best teams on their schedule and beat the lower-level squads. Week 11 against the Detroit Lions gives them a chance to do the latter while Week 12 and 14 against the Baltimore Ravens gives them chances to beat a good opponent.

For now, we have questions, questions and more questions. For now, taking an overarching look at some of the questions we have:
