Ja Morant’s latest signature shoe is still on Nike’s SNKRS app after speculation about him losing his deal

Ja Morant’s Nike deal still seems to be OK.

This is probably the least of Ja Morant’s worries at this point, but it looks like the Grizzlies star’s Nike deal might actually be OK for now.

Morant’s latest Ja 1 in the “hunger” colorway still released on Nike’s SNKRS app nearly a week after the sneaker was taken off of Nike’s main app and website, according to reporting from the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

The news of the shoe’s disappearance came following Morant’s latest instance of brandishing a firearm on social media. The incident was followed up by obvious disappointment from NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, which also led to speculation about a potentially lengthy suspension for Morant.

Apparently, amid it all, Morant’s signature shoe just disappeared from Nike’s app. Here’s more from the Commercial Appeal‘s Damichael Cole.

“The Hunger Ja 1s have been expected to release May 25. The mismatch red and blue colorway was listed on both the Finish Line and Nike apps as recently as Tuesday.

The Ja 1s were still posted on both the SNKRS and Hibbett Sports apps, where they can be ordered through a raffle.  Selected raffle winners would be able to purchase the sneakers.”

That was from just over a week ago. It left us all to wonder if the shoes would be removed from Nike’s SNKRS app, too, following the latest incident with Morant.

But on the sneaker’s Thursday release date, it still appears to be there.

To be clear, there is a difference between the Nike app and the SNKRS app. SNKRS is generally used for limited releases with smaller stock sizes while Nike drops tend to be released on a wider scale. That could’ve been the difference here, but it’s hard to say with everything going on surrounding Morant at this point.

We don’t know the details of what’s going on behind the scenes with Morant and his sneaker deal at Nike at this point, but it doesn’t appear that things are completely on ice at the very least.

Adidas just announced exactly when it’ll start selling Yeezy sneakers again

The Yeezys are back. For now.

Well, folks. Not only is Adidas back in the business of selling Yeezy, but we also now know exactly when the time is coming.

Since October when the brand first cut Kanye West and halted the sale of his Yeezy products, people have been debating about what the brand should do with the leftover inventory that it has on tap.

After making the decision to separate from West, Adidas went on ahead with the production orders made on Yeezy products in a move that the brand says was made to keep folks in the supply chain working. That created billions of dollars in inventory that the brand needed to do, well, something with.

That “something” ended up turning into selling it. Last week, reports surfaced from The Washington Post about the brand deciding to sell West’s wares again to make up for losses. But it’d also pledged to donate a “portion” of the proceeds to charities in relation to the people that he hurt with his hateful language.

On Friday, we got more details on exactly when Yeezy would be back on the shelf and exactly where some of the proceeds from sales were going.

Adidas is selling Yeezy again starting on May 1 and a “significant amount” of the proceeds from the sales will be donated to charities such as the Anti-Defamation League, the Philonise & Keeta Floyd Institute for Social Change and more.

If Adidas is going to sell Yeezy, then I guess this is how the company should do it.

It still feels like there’s some key information missing here, though. There should be a more complete list of charities that the brand is donating to made available to the public. And, most importantly, it’d also be amazing to know exactly how much these charities are getting while West still racks up that 15 percent royalty.

But those are details that will probably be sorted out down the line. In the meantime, Yeezy is officially back at Adidas — albeit, for a limited time.

Michael Jordan’s Wizards era finally gets some love with this new Air Jordan 3

Put some respect on Wizards Michael Jordan, y’all.

As a Washington Wizards fan, I can certainly understand how easy it is for people to overlook this team and it’s history.

I mean, let’s be honest about it. The team hasn’t won a championship or even made a conference finals appearance in multiple decades. The history just hasn’t been very good.

But there was that one time the team did have Michael Jordan. And it was a fun time, y’all! No, the Wizards still weren’t good. But MJ was there and he almost carried the team to the playoffs. He did it at 40 years old, too.

The best part might not have even been the basketball — it was also the cool shoes that Jordan was wearing while he was a Wizard. It was such a fun time.

And we celebrated that time on this week’s episode of Special Delivery with the Wizards Jordan 3s. Tap in and celebrate with us.
