The Philadelphia Eagles are getting healthy at the right time and with Jason Peters set to return to the lineup, Doug Pederson has a decision to make. During his Wednesday zoom session, Pederson was asked about Peters’s availability and where he might play.

Per the Eagles head coach, the future Hall of Famer will play wherever he’s asked.

Pederson hinted at how well Jordan Mailata has played at left tackle but from a strategic standpoint, was noncommital on where Peters would play as he returns to the lineup.

DB Grayland Arnold

OG Jamon Brown

DT T.Y. McGill

DT Raequan Williams

McGill and Williams are both candidates for playing time against the Cowboys after Hassan Ridgeway suffered a season-ending pectoral injury.
Arnold has seen action on special teams with the Eagles while Jamon Brown will be protected after signing to the practice squad after being released last week.

Eagles land inside the top-25 in USA TODAY’s post-Week 7 power rankings

Eagles are No. 23 in USA TODAY’s post-Week 7 power rankings

[jwplayer aDmSlbQ0]

The Philadelphia Eagles are in first place in the NFC East but their status among the NFL’s elite is still a work in progress. In USA Today’s post-Week 7 power rankings, the Eagles stayed put at the No. 23 spot.

23. Eagles (23): They should request more Thursday night games given coach Doug Pederson is 6-0 when pitted against “Must See TV” and “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Carson Wentz has started to find his form and his renewed confidence gives the Eagles their best shot to claim the NFC East and more going forward.

Eagles have one of the easiest remaining strength of schedules per ESPN Projections

Eagles have the third-easiest remaining strength of schedule

[jwplayer PH0guHkk]

The Philadelphia Eagles are 2-4-1 on the season and sitting in first place in the struggling NFC East. The Eagles still have matchups with the Seahawks, Packers, and Saints on the horizon, as well as a road contest against the up and coming Arizona Cardinals.

Despite the three-game NFC gauntlet and four more remaining NFC East games, Mike Clay of ESPN.com has projected the Birds to have the third easiest remaining schedule in the NFL behind only Cleveland and Pittsburgh.

The projections are a bit misleading with the Eagles facing the 2-5 Cowboys twice, the 1-6 Giants in Week 10, and the 2-5 Washington Football Team in Week 17.

Eagles activate 21-day practice windows for Edwards, Ford, Peters, and Reagor

The Eagles activated a 21-day practice window for four players including Jason Peters, Rudy Ford, T.J. Edwards, and Jalen Reagor.

The Eagles are set to get even more reinforcements back and a short time ago, the team announced that they have activated the 21-day practice windows for LB T.J. Edwards, S Rudy Ford, T Jason Peters, and WR Jalen Reagor.

Peters went on injured reserve with a foot injury just before the 49ers game. Jordan Mailata has started at left tackle in each of the past four contests.

Reagor suffered a thumb injury in the Week 2 Rams game and with DeSean Jackson likely to go on Injured Reserve with a lower-body injury, Reagor is returning at a perfect time. Reagor has five catches for 96 yards, including a 55-yard reception in Week 1.

T.J. Edwards suffered a hamstring injury in the win over the 49ers.

Philadelphia Eagles have a decision to make at LT with Jason Peters set to return

The Philadelphia Eagles could be getting back some reinforcements soon, as head coach Doug Pederson indicated that tackle Jason Peters, linebacker T.J. Edwards and safety/special-teams ace Rudy Ford could all return in the near future, possibly as early as next week against the Dallas Cowboys per Tim McManus of ESPN.com.

Edwards will provide strong run support at the middle linebacker position while Ford has been a valuable special teams asset since joining the Eagles.

The Biggest question will center around what the Eagles choose to do at left tackle, where Jordan Mailata has played well in relief of the injured Jason Peters. With Peters set to return, the Eagles will have a huge decision to make.

Peters was placed on injured reserve after suffering a toe injury just before the game against the San Francisco 49ers. With Peters eligible to be activated off the injured list on Monday, Doug Pederson and Jeff Stoutland will have to decide who’s the starter at left tackle.

The Eagles have been banged up along the offensive line and one move would be to place Peters back at right guard, where he originally signed to play after Brandon Brooks tore his Achilles and was lost for the season.

When asked about the matter on Friday, Pederson hinted at a multitude of options with Peters returning.

“I think that’s a conversation we’ll have internally to see what’s best for the football team, whether it’s he and (Nate) Herbig and Sua Opeta in a guard rotation, or if it’s J.P. back at left tackle. Those are the options we have, which we haven’t had many options lately. It gives us the best availability for these players for our offensive line moving forward.”

Even after giving Peters a raise to play left tackle, the Eagles would likely be best served, putting him back at right guard, while allowing Mailata to continue his ascension at left tackle.

Per Pro Football Focus, Mailata has allowed 3 sacks and 3 quarterback hits, along with 15 total QB pressures allowed in 205 pass-blocking opportunities.

With the Eagles looking to make a playoff run, Peters makes the most sense at guard, allowing Philadelphia to put their five best players on the field at the same time.

Peters will likely hold the cards in the matter and he’s previously wielded his power and hall of fame resume when bargaining with Eagles brass.

Eagles WR DeSean Jackson is highly motivated and plans to continue his NFL career in 2021

DeSean Jackson says he’ss highly motivated and plans to continue his NFL career in 2021

[jwplayer 1Tv4e329]

The Philadelphia Eagles will be without wide receiver DeSean Jackson for 6-8 weeks after he suffered a non-displaced ankle fracture similar to the injury suffered by Dallas Goedert.

Mike Garafalo reported the news and he’s also reporting that Jackson has every intention of playing next season in 2021, whether it be with the Eagles or another franchise.

In four games this season, Jackson has 13 catches for 155 yards and no touchdowns.

Jackson, 33, is signed through 2023 with the Eagles, but this is the final year that the wideout has guaranteed money and Howie Roseman could look to move on.

Jackson signed a three-year, $27 million contract with the Eagles in March of 2019. Jackson received $13 million in full guarantees including a $7.17 million signing bonus. Jackson has a $2 million option bonus due in 2020.

The 2022 and 2023 years void if Jackson is not extended by the Eagles, which now seems unlikely.

Eagles WR DeSean Jackson to miss 6-8 weeks with non-displaced ankle fracture

DeSean Jackson to miss 6-8 weeks with a non-displaced ankle fracture

In a similar fashion to the 2019 season, DeSean Jackson will miss the next 6-8 weeks with a non-displaced ankle fracture according to Mike Garafalo.

The injury, similar to the one that Dallas Goedert suffered in September, could keep Jackson out until the Eagles Week 16 matchup with the Cowboys or possibly longer.

Jackson, 33, is frustrated but highly motivated to get back not only this year but the next, Garafolo added.

Jackson is signed through 2023 with the Eagles, but this season final year that the wideout has guaranteed money and Howie Roseman could look to move on.

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson confirms Lane Johnson is day-to-day with a knee injury

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson confirmed that right tackle Lane Johnson is day to day with an MCL sprain

Doug Pederson just addressed the media during his Friday afternoon zoom conference and the Eagles head coach confirmed that Lane Johnson is, in fact, dealing with an MCL sprain on top of his surgically repaired ankle.

With 10 days until a matchup with the Dallas Cowboys, Pederson says Johnson will be listed as day to day with the injury.

There was some discussion about resting Johnson before the Giants game because of the lingering ankle problems that caused the Eagles star right tackle to miss or leave games over the past three weeks.
