NFL fans thought Jamaal Williams getting penalized for his hip-thrusting homage to Hingle McCringleberry was hilarious

That’s more pumps than are allowed!!!

The Lions were running all over the Vikings (-6) on Sunday afternoon. Their suddenly impeccably consistent offense continued to do what it wants against a hapless Minnesota offense. But among all of Detroit’s players, it was Jamaal Williams who seemed to enjoy himself the most amidst the hoopla.

After already scoring Detroit’s first touchdown, Williams found himself in the end zone again late in the third quarter to continue an offensive barrage. And with the Lions’ seemingly rolling along as they pleased, Williams decided to use his celebration to mark the occasion with a special nod to the famous Key & Peele character Hingle McCringleberry:

Williams would, unsurprisingly, be penalized 15 yards for “unsportsmanlike conduct” with his celebration. I mean, hey: That’s definitely more than three pumps, too. So, in a way, Williams exceeded McCringleberry’s celebration standard.

Bengals offense finally came to life against Jets and left Quinnen Williams lashing out at a coach

Things got HEATED on the Jets sideline.

If there was ever a game for the Cincinnati Bengals offense to get on track, it was Sunday’s Week 3 tilt with the New York Jets.

New York allowed 54 points through the first two weeks of the season and ranked near the bottom of the league in sacks with three in that span. As advertised, that defense was the remedy Cincy needed. The Bengals matched their season high of 20 points by halftime, and Joe Burrow threw for over 200 yards and two touchdowns.

Sometime after the second of those scores, a 56-yarder to Tyler Boyd late in the first quarter, Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams got into it with a coach on the sideline. And this thing was HEATED.

It’s probably safe to assume Williams was singled out for a blown play and didn’t appreciate it. Or he’s tired of the Jets defense being a pushover, and the frustration boiled over.

Whatever the case, they better pull it together soon. The live betting line at BetMGM was -13.5 after two quarters. The 20-9 halftime score can end up a lot worse.

DeVonta Smith finished off a monster first half with an absurd catch that had NFL fans in awe

Ohhhhh, so that’s why he’s called the “Slim Reaper”!

The Eagles have gotten off to a blazing start to the 2022 season. In almost every respect, they look like a true heavyweight, too. Philadelphia has one of the NFL’s most talented rosters on paper, and Jalen Hurts looks like a legitimate franchise quarterback.

It was more of the same when the Eagles took on the Commanders (+6.5) on Sunday afternoon. Philadelphia left no doubt in a dominant first half on the road in Washington D.C. DeVonta Smith, in particular, as one of the franchise’s young building blocks for the future, left no doubt on the field.

The second-year wideout had six receptions for 154 yards and a touchdown in the first half. Saying he was “cooking” the Commanders’ secondary might be an understatement. And look at how he so easily torched two defenders in double coverage:

If this is how Smith and the Eagles offense will play all year long, they might genuinely be on their way to a dream season.

Mind-blowing stat shows the Lions might actually have the NFL’s most consistent offense

The Lions are a force to be reckoned with. Crazy times!

A little over two games into the 2022 NFL season, and it seems like Dan Campbell’s Lions cannot be stopped on offense. A dominant offensive line pushing defenders around in the running game and a feisty Amon-Ra St. Brown cruised to at least 35 points against the Eagles and Commanders. At this rate, Detroit certainly looks like it has some staying power over the long haul.

On Sunday on the road against the Vikings (-6), the Lions essentially picked up right where they left off. When Jamaal Williams took it into the endzone for an easy two-yard touchdown, the Lions also put themselves in some extremely exclusive company:

I mean, I’m almost in shock! Do you mean to tell me offenses with Josh Allena and Patrick Mahomes haven’t scored a touchdown in 16 straight quarters, but … the Lions have?

Don’t look now, but they can technically tie the NFL record today:

Folks, it might be time to buy into what Campbell and Co. are cooking in Detroit. This team’s fun and their offense seemingly can’t be stopped.

NFL Week 3 public betting data: Bettors hammer road favorites, including Bills and Chiefs

Week 3 public betting stats from Tipico.

Part of being successful in sports betting is being aware of how the public is betting and where the sharp money lies. So, each and every Sunday of the NFL season, Bet For The Win is going to provide public betting stats straight from Tipico Sportsbook to help bring that knowledge to the forefront.

Betting the same way as the public doesn’t guarantee positive results, but it can’t hurt to be more informed. When the percentages are drastically slanted in an unexpected direction, there’s likely a reason for that beyond simple matchups.

Here’s how the public is betting in Week 3.

Middle Tennessee’s jaw-dropping 98-yard touchdown perfectly summed up Miami’s very bad day

Not the best from the Hurricanes against Middle Tennessee.

The 2022 Miami Hurricanes have been downgraded to a tropical forlorn.

Miami lost to Conference USA stalwart Middle Tennessee State University Saturday at home, 45-31, which should knock the No. 25 Hurricanes out of the AP rankings come Sunday.

The Blue Raiders came into the game as the 25.5-point underdogs but still walloped Miami with a 17-3 first quarter. MTSU never let up from there.

Things got so bad for the Hurricanes that the team benched sophomore quarterback Tyler Van Dyke in the second half for redshirt freshman Jake Garcia.

Miami’s rough day at the office might be best encapsulated by the play below.

On that play, Middle Tennessee senior QB Chase Cunningham launched a rocket to junior wideout DJ England-Chisolm, who helped deliver a jaw-dropping 98-yard touchdown to get the Blue Raiders a 38-17 margin to start the fourth.

We should also mention that play came right after Middle Tennessee’s defense stuffed Miami on 4th-and-short at the goal line.

After this latest fracas, the Hurricanes might want to avoid Conference USA for a bit.

And to really make things worse, Miami gave Middle Tennessee $1.5 million to show up in Miami Gardens on Saturday and take down the Hurricanes.

App State blew a 28-3 lead to James Madison, and of course college football fans had jokes

Obviously.

Appalachian State fans found out what happens when your team blow a 28-3 lead… jokes, embarrassment and lots of references to the Atlanta Falcons.

Despite wearing fancy helmets Saturday against James Madison, the Mountaineers went scoreless in the second half to the Dukes and lost 32-28.

App State had James Madison toasted, you guessed it, 28-3 in the first half before leading 28-10 at the break. Though, the Mountaineers, like the Atlanta Falcons who immortalized the 28-3 blown lead, forgot that you have to score points in the second half to win the game. James Madison certainly did not, rallying for a 22-point comeback to keep its perfect record.

The now 3-0 Dukes entered the day as a popular underdog at +6.5 on the betting lines, meaning that they covered the spread and then some.

LeBron James tweeted about his college eligibility and fans on Twitter had jokes

Ok, but if not basketball then which sport?

It’s the first Saturday of fall, college football is having itself a day and NBA training camps are slowly beginning to open.

In other words, sports are alive and well.

There’s rarely ever a dull moment in the world of sports as it is, and today, LeBron James is here to make sure our sports brains do a little extra work.

Completely out of the blue on this fine Saturday afternoon, LeBron posed a question to his 52.2 million Twitter followers — a random one, but a simple one.

The question: “Do I have college eligibility if I want to play another sport besides basketball?”

Based on LeBron’s tweet, it’s unclear what sport he may be talking about. But everyone is assuming it’s football that he’s referring to.

With their assumptions came jokes.

Here’s actual footage of LeBron playing football in high school. You decide for yourself if he’d be a good college player.

Atlanta Hawks players gift John Collins with a birthday cake of him posterizing Joel Embiid

Not a bad birthday gift to have.

Summer is behind us, which means a pretty entertaining (dramatic?) NBA off-season is in the rearview. Now, teams are entering training camps, with preseason and regular-season basketball around the corner.

Media Day is usually the unofficial signal of the start of the upcoming season.

And as the Hawks were addressing the media, it just so happens that forward John Collins’ birthday fell on the same day. And as with all birthdays, the Hawks celebrated.

Here are a few of the guys presenting Collins with a cake for his 25th birthday. On the cake? An iconic picture of Collins dunking all over Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid.

For those who don’t remember the play:

The moment came during an Eastern Conference semifinals matchup between the Sixers and Hawks back in 2021. Atlanta would lose this sixth game but would defeat Philly in seven to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.

With a core of Collins, Trae Young and newly acquired Dejounte Murray, Atlanta has +2000 odds at Tipico Sportsbook to win the East.

RANK KANSAS

YOU COWARDS

First, they beat Tennessee Tech. Then they beat West Virginia and Houston on the road. When the Kansas Jayhawks returned home, a similarly 3-0 Duke Blue Devils team awaited.

ESPN’s College GameDay opted not to come to Lawrence for the match-up in what seemed like a mistake at the time and now certainly appears to be the case. Because on Saturday, in front of just the second sellout crowd at David Booth Memorial Stadium in 13 years, the Kansas Jayhawks moved to 4-0 with a thrilling 35-28 victory.

In the process, quarterback Jalon Daniels officially kicked off his Heisman Trophy campaign. The defense proved successful on 10 of 15 third-down chances. The running backs looked as slippery as any in the Big 12.

Kansas has passed every test thrown its way so far this season. Maybe it’s the top of the mountain for the Jayhawks. Maybe it’s the start of something bigger. Either way, when all of college football is in agreement, you know it’s time to take it seriously.

At 4-0, there’s only one thing left to do:
