Tracking the Titans’ 2022 undrafted free agent signings

Follow along with our tracker for all of the latest reported Titans UDFA signings.

Now that the 2022 NFL draft is officially over, it’s time for the Tennessee Titans to turn their focus to signing players who went undrafted after the three-day event.

The Titans came away with nine players in total in the draft, with three on defense and six on offense. You can check out their entire haul right here.

Two major events overshadowed the rest of the draft for the Titans.

One was the trade of A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles, and the other was the selection of  quarterback Malik Willis, which injected some much-needed excitement into a Titans fan base that had been through it the night before after the Brown trade.

Putting all that aside for now, undrafted free agent signings aren’t anything to take lightly, as general manager Jon Robinson has found some good players who went undrafted in recent years, like Naquan Jones and Teair Tart, for example.

With all that said, follow along with our undrafted free agent tracker, which will be updated regularly whenever news of a Titans signing breaks. Simply refresh your browser to keep up to date (newest signings are at the top).

Note: these undrafted free agent signings are based on reports and haven’t been confirmed by the team.

Cardinals wrap up draft taking EDGE Jesse Luketa, OL Marquis Hayes with final 2 picks

The Cardinals use their final two selections on another edge defender and another offensive lineman.

The Arizona Cardinals had three seventh-round selections in the 2022 draft and the final two were consecutive picks at No. 256 and No. 257. With those final two selections, they added another edge defender and offensive lineman.

With the 256th pick, they selected Penn State defensive end Jesse Luketa, who was the pass rusher opposite Arnold Ebiketie.

With the 257th, they took Oklahoma lineman Marquis Hayes.

Luketa played linebacker until 2021, when he moved to defensive end. He is 6-3 and 253 lbs. He only had half a sack in 2021 and 8.5 tackles for loss. He did have an interception that he returned for a touchdown.

He was a team captain and plays with high motor. He played well at the Senior Bowl.

Hayes was a teammate of Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and receiver Marquise Brown in 2018, although Hayes did not play that season. He is 6-5 and 318 lbs and played in the Senior Bowl as well.

He played left guard for the Sooners but got some work at the Senior Bowl at right guard.

Meet the Tennessee Titans’ 2022 NFL draft class

Meet the Tennessee Titans’ 2022 NFL draft class.

After making their two picks in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL draft, the Tennessee Titans are officially done for this year’s event. Now, the team’s attention will turn to undrafted free agent signings.

Tennessee went into the draft with a slew of needs on offense, and it showed with the team taking a total of six offensive players. However, the Titans didn’t neglect defense, taking three players on that side of the ball.

The nine picks in total were the most the Titans have made in a draft since 2017, when they tallied the same number.

To say this year’s draft was a roller coaster would be an understatement.

To kick things off, Tennessee traded one of their best players, wide receiver A.J. Brown, to the Philadelphia Eagles, which was a surprise to say the least.

Then, after taking Brown’s replacement in Treylon Burks, the Titans landed their quarterback of the future in Malik Willis two rounds later, a selection that injected some much-needed excitement into the team’s fan base after a rough first night.

Now, here’s a look at the Titans’ entire haul from the 2022 NFL draft, along with all of the articles we wrote on each of them.

2022 NFL draft: Giants undrafted rookie free agent scorecard

The rush to sign undrafted rookie free agents is underway! Here’s a live 2022 scorecard for the New York Giants.

The 2022 NFL draft has officially come to a close and the frenzy to sign undrafted rookie free agents (UDFA) is underway.

For general manager Joe Schoen and the New York Giants, they’ll look to add several players prior to the start of rookie mini-camp which will take place in mid-May. Their focus will be on the defense.

“As soon as the Draft is over and we can start working on that, we will. We still have — defensively, I think is where we are going to have to add,” Schoen told reporters on Saturday. “Again, when we got here, where the roster was, we had to add a lot of pieces, and there’s only so many resources. So we did the best we could this weekend, and we’ll continue to do that in free agency.”

Schoen will also look to the open market once post-draft cuts begin.

“Players might have gotten drafted over somebody else, so what that means is maybe next week there’s going to be some cuts and may be some veterans that are on the street because they drafted over players on their current roster,” Schoen said. “We don’t play until September. Our location in the claim order, the final cutdown will be important or as players are cut.

“The roster is never finished. It won’t be finished during the season, and we’ll always be looking to upgrade.”

It’s important to note that UDFA signings are not announced by the NFL, so some initial reports may be incorrect, changed or, unfortunately, outright faked. Until the Giants/NFL themselves announce the signings, these should all be considered rumors and subject to change.

As signings and rookie mini-camp invites are reported, we’ll update this article. So keep refreshing.

Cardinals select Valdosta State CB Chris Matthew with 244th pick

The long cornerback played collegiately at Georgia Southern, Samford and Valdosta State.

The Arizona Cardinals waited until the seventh round to select a cornerback. With the 244th selection in the NFL draft, the first of three seventh-round selections, they drafted Valdosta State cornerback Christian Matthew.

Matthew played for three different schools collegiately. He began at Georgia Southern, transferred to Samford and then on to Valdosta State.

In 2021, he had 37 tackles and an interception. He also blocked a kick.

He measured at 6-2 and 195 lbs at his pro day at Mercer and ran the 40 in 4.50 seconds.

He is an older prospect, already 25 years old.

He had a lot of contact with the Cardinals and was not surprised when they drafted him, but believed he would go earlier.

Instant analysis and grade for Titans selecting LB Chance Campbell

Shaun Calderon breaks down the final pick of the Tennessee Titans’ 2022 NFL draft.

Barring any trades, we have finally reached the conclusion of the 2022 NFL draft as far as the Tennessee Titans’ picks go. With their final selection (No. 219), the Titans selected Ole Miss linebacker, Chance Campbell.

Campbell was a productive linebacker throughout the duration of his collegiate career in which he spent three seasons at Maryland before transferring to Mississippi before the 2021 season.

In total, he accumulated 216 tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles at both Maryland and Ole Miss. In his only season as a Rebel, Campbell accounted for 109 total tackles (fifth-most in the SEC).

The Ole Miss product is big, strong, and physical, but his lack of athleticism and functional speed can cause issues for him when defending against superb and elusive athletes.

Campbell is also not afraid to bang between the tackles and does a nice job of locating the football when playing the run.

However, if the rookie linebacker ever wants to become more than just a special teams contributor, he will need to drastically improve his coverage abilities.

I would have personally liked to see them add another offensive prospect to the team, but Campbell should at least be able to carve out a role on special teams, so I will give this pick a slightly above-average grade despite not being my personal preference.

Grade: C+

Instant analysis: Jaguars draft Ouachita Baptist DB Gregory Junior in sixth round

The Jacksonville Jaguars used their sixth-round pick at 197th overall on CB Gregory Junior out of Ouachita Baptist.

The Jacksonville Jaguars spent their next to last pick (No. 197) from the 2022 NFL Draft on Ouachita Baptist cornerback Gregory Junior. The Jaguars also made Junior the first player drafted from Ouachita Baptist.

NFL.com reports that Junior made 46 tackles, three of them for a loss and seven pass breakups in 11 starts. Lance Zierlein writes that he is a developmental defensive back with size, speed, and fluidity but his technique and field awareness could be stumbling blocks early in his career. He projects that Junior will be an early special-teams worker that is picked on Day 3.

Relative Athletic Score gave him a grade of 8.87 out of 10. They said he recorded 18 reps in the bench press, a 39.5-inch vertical jump, and a 4.46 in the 40-yard dash.

Jaguars fans shouldn’t expect Junior to see the field much in 2022 besides on special teams. He could see snaps at cornerback if injuries pile up in Jacksonville’s secondary.

Saints fan gets married at 2022 NFL draft in Las Vegas

How’d you spend our Saturday? Because Saints fan Briana McAllister lived it up getting married at the NFL draft in Las Vegas, via @RossJacksonNOLA:

There are a lot of ways to spend a Saturday at the end of April, but this might take the cake. The wedding cake. Saints fan Briana McAllister and her now husband Toby Koster not only had the chance to attend the 2022 NFL draft, but also get married in the meanwhile! This comes one year after the two were engaged during the 2021 draft in Cleveland.

So from engagement to nuptials, the NFL draft got to hold site for both of these magical moments for McAllister and Koster. While most Saints fans were cheering over the team’s first-round selections of Chris Olave and Trevor Penning, these two celebrated being each others’ first-round selections in style.

Next year, the draft will be in Kansas City, where the two were engaged and near Koster’s hometown. Will be fun to see if they get the opportunity to celebrate their first anniversary together with another draft appearance. Congratulations to the happily married couple.
