Buford High School safety Jake Pope, who is ranked as a four-star recruit, puts Georgia and Alabama among his top 14 schools.

Buford High School (Georgia) safety Jake Pope, who is ranked as a four-star recruit, has released his initial list of top schools. Pope is a member of the class of 2022 and has seen an uptick in scholarship offers recently.

Pope plays wide receiver in addition to safety. The four-star is 6 feet, 2 inches and weighs 190 pounds. He won a 6A state championship this past season with Buford and was named all-region.

Pope is a versatile athlete and a good route runner. He is an impressive tackler in the open field and made critical plays against elite high school competition.

Pope announced his top 14 schools via his Twitter account:

The Buford, Georgia, standout has a top 14 of: Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Michigan, Ohio State, Virginia, Louisville, Iowa, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Michigan State, UNC, South Carolina and Notre Dame.

Where will Jake Pope play college football?

Kirby Smart and the University of Georgia could use a talented safety like Jake Pope. Georgia could lose both of its starting safeties (Lewis Cine and Christopher Smith) next offseason.
