Bills announce 7 team captains for 2020

Buffalo Bills 2020 team captains.

Going into a new season, the Buffalo Bills announced their team captains following Wednesday’s practice. Typically as voted on by the players, the following will be captains for the 2020 season:

  • QB Josh Allen
  • OL Dion Dawkins
  • LB Tremaine Edmunds
  • DE Jerry Hughes
  • S Jordan Poyer
  • LS Reid Ferguson
  • WR/ KR Andre Roberts

Allen, Edmunds, Dawkins, and Ferguson return to their duties as captains. Those four earned their first tenure as team leaders in 2019. Prior captains needing replacing from last season include kicker Stephen Hauschka and linebacker Lorenzo Alexander.

Poyer, Roberts and Hughes are your new additions. In a bit of a twist, the Bills actually named seven total captains when typically a team announces six. Those six will have two allocated to each phase of the game, offense, defense and special teams. Instead, it appears Buffalo have three on defense this season via Poyer, Hughes and Edmunds.
