247Sports lists one 2021 recruit to be excited about for each Big 12 school

In a recent list from 247Sports that labeled the most exciting 2021 recruits for each Big 12 program, several young quarterbacks were mentioned. Oklahoma, Baylor, Kansas and Texas Tech were each centered around an incoming signal-caller. For Texas, of course, it’s five-star versatile athlete Ja’Tavion Sanders.

Texas head coach Chris Beard lands another transfer

While Oklahoma appears to be losing several players in way of the transfer portal, it’s where Chris Beard is thriving.

On Friday night, Beard received a commitment from former Creighton small forward Christian Bishop. Within the past week, the first-year head coach has completely revamped Texas’ roster. Andrew Jones, Jase Febres and Brock Cunningham have confirmed their decision to return for another season. However, the major news has centered around the NCAA transfer portal. Beard has now brought in three different players via the portal: Timmy Allen, Devin Askew and Bishop. On top of that, he was able to sway former Texas Tech signee Jaylon Tyson to the Forty Acres as well.

Kyler Murray voted the best Texas high school football player of all-time

Unfortunately for Longhorn fans, the best high school football player of all-time from their home state is a former Oklahoma Sooner. A poll was recently conducted by texashsfootball.com and Murray was selected as the fan favorite. He went 42-0 as the starting quarterback for Allen from 2012-2014 and missed only one game, while leading the Eagles to three-straight state championships. It’s hard to argue with statistics of that nature.
