Number Six: Skylar Thompson, Kansas State
When the Kansas State Wildcats come to mind, many think about defense and running the football. KSU has a pretty good quarterback themselves in Skylar Thompson. He will be looking to build on a solid junior season in 2019. He appeared in 13 games while throwing for 2,315 yards and 12 touchdowns.
As a runner, defenses must account for his ability to tuck and run. Thompson finished with just 400 yards on the ground but added 11 touchdowns. When KSU played Texas, Thompson gave the Wildcats a quick two touchdown lead throwing the ball. However, it was Ehlinger and Cameron Dicker who had the last laugh.
Number Five: Spencer Sanders, Oklahoma State
When it comes to high powered offenses in the Big 12, Oklahoma State is always in the discussion. Along with Texas and Oklahoma, the Pokes are one of the teams looking to take home the Big 12 crown. Spencer Sanders has many weapons at his disposal with Chuba Hubbard and Tylan Wallace.
As a freshman, Sanders accounted for 2,065 yards passing and 16 touchdowns. He needs to work on limiting his interceptions to keep that offense humming. Much like Thompson, Sanders is a threat to run the ball as well. Against the Longhorns, the freshman ran for over 100 yards with a touchdown.
