After a close win over Texas Tech on Thursday night, the Longhorns will now face Kansas in the semifinals of the Big 12 tournament on Friday.
The Red Raiders had defeated the Longhorns twice throughout the regular season. It was a matchup that didn’t appear favorable for Texas in the first round of the Big 12 tournament, but they managed to get the job done in the final two seconds by the way of two clutch free throws from Matt Coleman III.
No. 3 seed Texas will now face No. 2 seed Kansas on Friday night in their attempt to defeat the Jayhawks for the third time this season. This is the first time that the Longhorns have advanced to the semifinal round of the Big 12 tournament since 2014.
