A fired-up Steph Curry told the Kings to ‘light the beam’ as the Warriors ended Sacramento’s season

Steph’s pettiness is unmatched.

The Sacramento Kings have had a resurgent and surprising season in 2022-23, but they were simply no match for Stephen Curry’s game … and pettiness.

Throughout the Kings’ run to the playoffs, they’ve adopted “light the beam” as a rallying cry for the players and fans. Basically, for every Kings win, they activate four purple lasers on top the Golden 1 Center. It makes for an awesome scene in the city. And the actual lighting of said beam has become a part of the Kings’ postgame celebratory routine.

But when you have a unique celebration for wins, other teams are going to take notice, and you absolutely don’t want to see the season end at home. After all, it just makes for the easiest trash-talk material.

As Curry finished off his epic 50-point performance in the Warriors’ Game 7 win against the Kings, he was seen telling (and signaling) to the Golden 1 Center crowd to light the beam.

You just know he was waiting to use that against the Kings. NBA fans also had thoughts on the trash talk from Steph. He earned it, though.
