Texas is the first school to offer an intriguing 6-4, 210-pound athlete in the 2023 recruiting class.
Although his recruiting grade is not available yet, Samuel M’Pemba is expected to be a highly sought-after recruit within the next year.
The St. Louis, Missouri native has reported offers from both Texas and Texas A&M while Michigan, Kansas State and USC have recently expressed interest. He played both defensive end and wide receiver last season as a freshman at LaDue Horton Watkins High School, but his frame and skill set can project in numerous directions.
Oklahoma State recruiting reporter Marshall Levenson believes M’Pemba will likely play defensive end at the next level. It’s clear that his unique athleticism and body control catches the eyes of many.
One of the top players I saw this weekend was 2023 Samuel M'Pemba out of St. Louis, MO. 6'4/218, very athletic and great body control. Plays WR but will most likely end up at DE as he grows. Uses size to overpower defenders with ease. Holds 2 offers (Texas, Texas A&M) pic.twitter.com/6nEZClUhtQ

Texas will need to heavily continue targeting M’Pemba as he’s likely to receive offers from the nation’s top programs, but being the first to offer is certainly a strong start.
