The backfield at Texas is loaded with talent.
One of the most pleasant surprises last season was former quarterback Roschon Johnson. As a true freshman, he was tasked with learning a new position due to lack of depth at running back.
Johnson put the team above himself. The position switch appeared to be a seamless transition, he eventually climbed the depth chart to become the No. 2 running back where he received a load of carries each game.
After deciding to remain at running back for the foreseeable future, Johnson could have a more explosive season in 2020. If he looked that impressive on minimal notice last season, imagine how he could look after a full offseason of preparation.
A video clip recently surfaced on Twitter of Johnson showcasing footwork, speed and change of direction.
Concentrate your energy and hoard your strength. 🤘🏾 #HookEm

With Keontay Ingram and the nation’s No. 1 running back Bijan Robinson now in the backfield, it will be a pleasant position battle to keep an eye on. Regardless, it appears Johnson will be prepared and ready for the challenge.
