Reshad Jones part-retires

Dolphins safety Reshad Jones has partly-retired from the NFL this week. Earlier this offseason, Jones was already released by the Dolphins. Miami was the he was drafted by and the one he earned Pro Bowl honors with over the last decade. The safety was certainly a thorn in the Bills’ side over the years.

But in chatting with the Palm Beach Post this week, Jones revealed he might not play football again. Not only is this offseason, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, very different, Jones is planning to not play due to neck surgery. Jones needs neck surgery, but he hasn’t had it yet. That’s why he’s sitting out. Unfortunately because of the pandemic, Jones hasn’t been able to get into a hospital to have the surgery.

Because of this, the 32-year-old defensive back’s career might be over. An unforeseen twist in the uncommon times we’re all dealing with. Best of luck to Jones moving forward.
