The 99 club
We’ve covered the Buffalo Bills and their ratings in the upcoming EA Sports video game, Madden 21. Each year the gaming company releases player ratings before the game hits stores. In doing so, the “99 club” is often watched. This year, that stung a little.
Who were the All-Pro cornerbacks from the AFC in 2019? The Patriots’ Stephon Gilmore and the Bills’ Tre’Davious White. Which one of these two was ranked as the game’s only 99 overall cornerback while the other only slotted in at a 90? Well, unfortunately, that same order.
Gilmore might be a good choice for that, he is the reigning Defensive Player of the Year. But seeing White all the way back at 90 is… a bit of a bummer.
The Patriots corner is among four players to earn this elite recognition — Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Donald and Christian McCaffrey are the other three.
