A costly acquisition

While Diggs inserts an amount of enthusiasm into the Bills organization and their fans, it didn’t come cheap. It doesn’t help that there’s a cheaper comparison that reportedly went down, too.

On Monday, DeAndre Hopkins was traded to the Cardinals by the Texans in a deal that seemed to good to be true for Arizona. They gave up just two picks and running back David Johnson for one of the best receivers in the NFL. This seemingly set the tone of the these type of deals. Minnesota held firm though, and got what they wanted for a top-10 wide receiver.

The Bills gave up their first, fifth, and sixth round pick for the upcoming 2020 draft, and their 4th-round pick in the 2021 draft. This sort of deal is what people expect when a team trades away one of their top talents. This deal is unprecedented for Brandon Beane who wants to build his team through the draft, but this is a signal that he wants the Bills to win now.
