4-star OLB Chaz Chambliss picks Georgia: Twitter reacts

Georgia football fans react on Twitter to 4-star OLB Chaz Chambliss committing to UGA on Tuesday.

Though it’s still very early in the 2021 recruiting cycle, plenty of Georgia fans were beginning to feel nervous about this year’s recruiting class.

Coming into today, the Dawgs only had seven commitments, sat at No. 20 in the national rankings and had not heard good news on the recruiting trail since April 19, when 4-star defensive end Elijah Jeudy pledged to UGA.

It seemed like rivals Tennessee, Clemson and Florida were getting all the players while Georgia was missing out.

But with the commitment of 4-star outside linebacker Chaz Chambliss on Tuesday morning, Georgia now has eight commits and sits at No. 16 in the 247Sports team rankings. Still work to be done, but the Dawgs are coming.

Chambliss, out of Carrolton High School in Carrolton, Georgia, ranks as the nation’s No. 255 overall player in the 2021 class. Per the 247 composite rankings, he is the No. 18 ranked outride linebacker and 24th player in Georgia.

At 6-3, 220-pounds, Chambliss has recorded 164 tackles, 48 tackles for loss, 16.5 sacks, 4 pass breakups and 2 forced fumbles over the last seasons at Carrolton.
