247 Sports has him graded very highly. According to 247, Mims is ranked as the 7th best overall recruit in the 2021 class and the third-best offensive tackle. He is also graded as the top recruit in the state of Georgia.
ESPN ranks Mims as the 20th best overall recruit, while Rivals has him as the 4th overall. Not only that, but 247 has him as the 188th best recruit of all time, which puts him higher than stars like WR Keenan Allen (205), RB Willis McGahee (211), TE Greg Olsen (225) and QB Spencer Rattler (237), to name a few.
Mims committed to Georgia on October 14th, 2020. He chose the Dawgs over other major schools such as Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, and LSU.
