DT Quinton Jefferson
Stats: 39 games played, 59 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 5 passes defended, 10 tackles for loss
Coming from the Seahawks, Quinton Jefferson played along a 3-4 front defensive end spot at times, but could be used in a 4-3 tackle position, such as the Bills’ 3-tech spot. If Jordan Phillips departs, there’s certainly a spot there for Jefferson.
Injury derailed Jefferson’s early career, but in recent seasons, the former fifth-round pick has turned it around. Jefferson has 6.5 sacks combined over the past two seasons and he’s shown a good ability to beat double teams, winning 10.9 percent of those. But adding him would really depend on the going rate. OverTheCap projects a big payday for him at $8 million per season while Spotrac projects a decent $5.75 million.
Jefferson, 26, did once try to get into an altercation with a fan, though. Via PFF, he was the 27th best interior defensive lineman in the NFL last season.
Quinton Jefferson looked pretty nice last night. If he can turn it on this season and the rookies are as ahead of schedule as they looked last night… đź‘€ pic.twitter.com/O3LezZjOhw
