Will Anderson Jr. projected to land with talented NFL defensive front

Will Anderson Jr. projected join an established and dominant defensive line via the 2023 NFL draft.

Alabama EDGE rusher and outside linebacker Will Anderson Jr. is almost guaranteed to be a top-five overall selection in the upcoming 2023 NFL draft. The only question that remains is: where will he land?

Well, Josh Edwards of CBS Sports offers a unique take on where the two-time SEC Defensive Player of the Year and two-time Nagurski Trophy recipient could begin his professional career.

Last season, the Detroit Lions selected Aidan Hutchinson No. 2 overall out of Michigan. The Team then went on to select former Alabama wide receiver Jameson Williams at No. 12 overall.

At the beginning of the 2022 NFL regular season, many suspected the Lions would move on from Jared Goff and look for the quarterback of the future in the draft. Now it appears as if the franchise is content with Goff and may try to move forward with him.

Currently, Detroit is projected to have the fourth pick in the first round of the 2023 draft. Edwards argues if Anderson is on the board, the Lions should select him.

“With Jared Goff manning a surging Lions offense, Detroit punts on the idea of taking a quarterback and sticks with the 28-year-old. In doing so, the Lions are gifted the chance to take a very gifted edge rusher. Anderson lined up opposite Aidan Hutchinson is going to be problematic for the NFC North.”

Roll Tide Wire will continue to cover Alabama football and players that will declare for the NFL draft.
