Former Texas wide receiver Marquise Goodwin has plenty of confidence in his speed.
It makes sense considering he’s a world class track and field athlete and Olympian. Goodwin became the first collegian to win both the Olympic Trials and the NCAA outdoor long-jump competition in the same year since 1960.
After appearing in 50 career games at Texas, Goodwin was selected by the Buffalo Bills with the No. 78 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. His speed was often showcased as a kick returner at Texas and with the Bills.
After battling with numerous injuries over the past few seasons, Goodwin was traded from the San Francisco 49ers to the Philadelphia Eagles for a swap of sixth-round draft picks in the 2020 NFL Draft. He’s now on a restructured contract with a one-year deal worth $1.35 million.
He’s looking to prove himself on and off the field and that may include a foot race in the future. On Thursday, Goodwin tweeted that he’d like to showcase his speed against Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
YOU CANT BEAT ME . @CHEETAH @CHEETAH @CHEETAH @CHEETAH @CHEETAH @CHEETAH @CHEETAH @CHEETAH @CHEETAH @CHEETAH @CHEETAH @CHEETAH I PULLED UP TO FLORIDA LAST YR. TO C YOUUU SPECIFICALLY… PULL-UP TO DDD… THIS TIME I WANT MY MONEY

It appears Goodwin has been attempting to do this for years, but the recent challenge arose due to the viral video of Hill racing former Pro Football Hall of Famer Terrell Owens in the 40-yard dash. Goodwin responded to the video stating that Hill would not be able to beat him with that form, so Hill mentioned that he’d be willing to challenge anyone.
Their statistics don’t match up in regards to production on the football field, but a 40-yard dash race between the two would certainly be close. Goodwin recorded a 4.27 time at the NFL combine, while Hill clocked in a 4.29.
Everyone would love to witness a friendly competition between the two to ultimately determine who’s the fastest player in the league.
