Where Texas ranks in this College World Series power ranking

The Texas Longhorns begin their quest for their seventh national title in college baseball.

Texas will begin their quest for their seventh national title in college baseball on Friday.

The Longhorns made it to Omaha thanks to a five-run rally against ECU followed by an 11-1 shellacking of the Pirates in the deciding game of the super regional series.

Despite having to fight back from the brink of elimination against ECU, one power ranking has Texas ranked first among the College World Series field.

The author of the rankings assures Oklahoma fans that his rankings are unbiased and based purely off algorithm.

With recent games weighted heavily into the rankings, it is surprising to see Oklahoma and Texas A&M towards the bottom of the list. The Aggies have been red hot on the diamond for quite awhile, having secured a top national seed and winning each round with little difficulty.

Ole Miss comes in at third after sneaking into the tournament as a bottom seed in their region.

Texas will face Texas A&M or Oklahoma in its second game, regardless of the outcome of Friday’s game against Notre Dame.
