The Big 12 has been a solid football conference this season with a few welcome surprises.
TCU under first-year head coach Sonny Dykes is one of the biggest surprises across the college football landscape this year. The Horned Frogs sit with a perfect 10-0 record and are currently in the College Football Playoff hunt.
With TCU already securing a bid to the Big 12 Championship game in December, only one spot remains for the rest of the conference. Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Texas and Baylor are the four likely programs to battle it out in the Big 12 title race over the final two games of the regular season.
Kansas has also made a dramatic turnaround this season under head coach Lance Leipold. The Jayhawks are bowl eligible and have a couple big wins on their resume already.
Texas was in clear position to control their own destiny prior to a disappointing showing against TCU in Week 11. The Longhorns still suffer from inconsistent play and need to win their final two games, along with receiving help elsewhere, in order to reach the Big 12 title game.
USA TODAY Sports recently released their updated re-rank of 131 college football teams. Here’s a look at where each Big 12 team lands in the latest re-rank.
