When, where, how to watch and pitching matchups for Oklahoma baseball’s series against TCU

Everything you need to know for Oklahoma baseball’s three-game weekend set against TCU beginning Friday night.

Oklahoma (13-11, 1-2) has returned back to home soil for their first set of games in Norman since they took on Houston a couple of weeks ago. This will be the Sooners first home conference series of the season as awaiting them will be another tough foe in No. 11/12/22/25 TCU (17-7, 3-0).

The road swing wasn’t especially kind to Skip Johnson’s club, for after sweeping the Cougars to run their win streak to six in a row they dropped four of the five games played away from Norman including getting walked off by Oklahoma State in Stillwater earlier this week. The team enters this weekend looking for a good series to right the ship.

The Horned Frogs come into the weekend as one of the better teams in the country playing some really good baseball as of late. They have won each of their last six contests including a home sweep of Baylor in their first conference set last weekend. They also have a very impressive win over Mississippi State under their belt they picked up back in February.

For Oklahoma to be successful against another tough opponent, they will need to fair far better with runners in scoring position – something that has been an issue over the losing skid. Both Johnson and players expressed this week a necessary mentality change to do better in those situations moving forward.

This series will provide the 100th, 101st and 102nd all-time meetings between the Sooners and TCU, with Oklahoma leading historically 62-37. The Horned Frogs, however, took three of the four meetings between the two in 2019. TCU is coached by Jim Schlossnagle in his 18th year with the program.
